PTPTN - i think u all most probably will received a cheque with RM1500 from PTPTN once u get urself a seat at UTHM. So use tat money to pay ur tuition fee for the first sem before u go to UTHM. Once u use that RM1500 meaning that u will have to sign contract with PTPTN and agreed that u wan to borrow loan from them. The 1500 will be deduced on second semester so second semester will be tough if u r big spender. Just prepare a certified copy of ur ic ur parents ic in case u wan to apply PTPTN. Open a account at Bank Muamalat if u dun 1 to join the chaos in the bank bank inside campus. u also can apply PTPTN loan before u enter UTHM by buying the form from the pos office but most of the people will do tat when they enter the U

Campus.
There are basically 2 campus in UTHM. 1 is main campus another is City Campus. How far they both separated? its beyond walking distance! Mostly those who r offered IT or BPK, BPD will be allocated to City Campus. The facilities provided are not so good except the lab for IT students. They actually rent a shop lot and transform it to a lecture room. As the number of student growing u may have to go to main cam for some lesson and back again to city campus for another lesson.

Hostel.
Basically there are 3 hostels provided for u all. First is in main campus normally for girls and if i m not mistaken for E&E or engineering students as their campus just around. another two is in between the main campus and city campus. The hostel i can say is located about 4km from city cam and 4 km from main cam. The hostel here is kinda ok when i was allocated there 3 years ago but i dunno the condition now. These hostel normally are allocated for students having lectures at City campus.

Wifi
Currently i think Wifi service are well prepared for u all unlike three years ago where we need to go to garden of our hostel got the internet access. Even some hostel are not equipped last time had installed wifi point. so wifi is quiet available at most of the point for city and main campus but u have to register with Pusat Teknologi Maklumat first before u can access.

Transport
Even the main campus is still small compared to UM or UKM or USM but they do provide shutter bus service for intra and inter. Intra means within the main cam while inter means between city campus -> hostel -> main campus. But in some case they will provide u van with limited amount of seat for u to travel from hostel outside to campus. So u might need to be the early bird for u to get a seat.

Medical checkup
its recommended for u to do medical checkup before u enter the U if u dun 1 to trouble urself.

Food
Local U i think almost the same. It is always malay food with a lot of chilies. And with some flies flying around in some hostels canteen. Sad rite? But around campus and hostels there are plenty of mamak stalls. For those who r studying at city campus i can tell u r the lucky 1 there are KFC there and 3 chinese restaurants providing non halal food if u r non muslim. Singh? My fren singh also like chinese food there There is also a 24 hours restaurant running by indian muslims

for my IT juniors
U will be given selection of Minor Subjects to focus on when u r in third year. My case i was offered.. Information System, Software Engineering, Mutimedia and Networking.

So ur future prospect lies on ur selection. Any inquiries regarding on IT in UTHM u can always PM me or discuss here.

the most famous course in UTHM is eee... lol civil is not bad either my roommate was in civil..

perwira is the hostel i used to stay but i think name was different by then.. chinese stall are located normally at Parit Raja Town.. quite some distance you may wan to take bus or drive there... Food pricing 6-7 years back consider reasonable
