If my understanding is correct, you just connect the HDMI cable from the HT out to the HDMI 2 in (the one with the ARC) of the TV.

I was using the NS-P380 (actually still using them as my rear speakers).

Performance of these speakers aren't too bad, although don't expect them (esp. the front speakers) to be as good as larger speakers.

The TV supports ARC. So all I need to do is out put that link to the HT input?

TERMINAL
HDMI
HDMI Input  3 (3 rear)
Support Feature  Audio Return Channel (Input 2)
Component Video Input shared with Composite  RCA phono type x 1 (rear)
USB 2.0  2
SD Card  —
Ethernet  1 (rear)
Digital Audio Output (Optical)  1 (rear)
Headphone Jack  —
Service Port  —

Provided your HTC supports ARC as well (it should). Another cool thing is Passthrough on Standby on the HT. Switch on the amp, and the HT speakers provide the audio; put the amp on standby, and the TV provides the audio. rclxms.gif

Guys,

Any idea on solving this issue? it has been awhile but now i have time to look into it.

I have this issue getting sound from NAS drive files thru AV amp rather than TV. How do i solve it?

My DLNA Config:
--------------------------------------------------------------
NAS --Router -- Receiver -- (TV+ BR Player) --Modem
--------------------------------------------------------------

Example 1:
When i play BlurRay Disk my 5.1 speakers will be triggered where my TV sound will be bypass.

Example 2:
When playing movies through TV Source to browse through NAS files by 5.1 speakers will not be triggered instead TV sound will be activated.

How do i enable my NAS to use my 5.1 speakers?

Thanks

May i ask for everyone's feedback .. is it good to get std HT system brand same as the TV brand? I hv a Samsung & thinking of getting HT-5530 but an outlet sales guy told me, different brand merging is better. He recommended Panasonic (Forgetten the model).. so, i am kind of confused? Both HT is giving out 1000W and have similiar functions, etc.

Comments pls. Thks

Same brand or not does not matter as long as it meet your requirement

HDMI will carry audio from your TV to the AVR only if the HDMI port on the TV is with ARC, assuming the HDMI port on the AVR is already with ARC as most new AVRs are. You can check if any HDMI port at the TV is with ARC since it will be marked ARC if it is so.
Or you may need to do some settings on your AVR for running DLNA, check the user manual.

have you considered the Pioneer HTP-AJ3222 set? It's going for RM2699 at Harvey Norman including the AVR whereas others are RM2999. The main speakers are the Andrew Jones series, you can google for reviews. Sub is a local Pioneer Malaysia model though...

I'm not officially certified to be THX Home Theater Level 2.

I am certified for Video Calibration (Level 2) and HT (Level 1).

If u r looking for audio especially, pls pm junwei as he is THX HT Level 2 and also HAA (Home Acoustics Alliance) certified.
