Ok..will go down to batu pahat tomorrow..will charge the phone full and try to use garmin all the way to Batu pahat..does the garmin detects the speedtrape automatically?
*
these speedtraps are actually like POI's that the mapper put it in. it is however not 100% accurate as it is just information shared by the community to be aware that there is a speedtrap zone.

the policemen can camp at one place today and another tomorrow. so please do not expect the gps/map to tell you 100% accurately that there is a speedtrap.

the only way is to get a speed trap detector as these devices picks up the speed camera's wave when it bounces off other cars so you'll know that there is a speed trap ahead or somewhere near. but if the policemen were to aim the speed camera directly at you, no detector on earth can save you smile.gif

p/s: these are illegal here in malaysia.

QUOTE(Quinn @ Jun 12 2009, 08:58 PM)
can anyone let me know why u would choose (symbian)e71 over blackberry?
*
1. price (i bought mine for RM400 with Maxis corporate plan)
2. i have free unlimited data plan with my Maxis corporate plan, hence allowing me to use Nokia Email's push mail service which is equivalent to BB's BIS . even though it's only free temporarily, but oh well i can always use back the phone's email software and set it to automatically receive emails every X minutes. not push mail, but it gets the job done.
3. Symbian OS
4. After sales support
5. software availability

thats all for now.

They maintained the E71 form factor smile.gif Couldn't see any much difference in comparison to E71 yet..

some info i got from the net.

1. optical trackpad
2. 5MP camera
3. Symbian OS S60 fp2

which is quite good a step for improvement. but lets hope there's more additional stuffs when Nokia officially announces the phone.

ARgGggg....my E71 not even 1 month old and now E72 making my hands itchy.

sifu here..my phone now cannot receive my gmail..last time i set the email to retrieve every hour...
i went to maxis there and ask, they set my gmail now can receive, but i need to connect in order to check the mail..
it like i need to connect to check whether got new mail...whereas last time it will prompt a message saying that it has new mail...
how shld i do?
*
double check your Automatic Retrieval settings.

make sure that E-mail retrieval is enabled. but you will have to fix an Access point to use for incoming e-mail.

if ur not too sure, let me know i'll guide you to this settings. hope i can help

cheers!

QUOTE(attahun @ Jun 15 2009, 12:11 PM)
why they releasing new 5MP when the current 3.2MP still no good..no fix aa? tongue.gif
*
well, the 3.2MP can do so much....no fix can allow it to have more pixels. so with the 5MP, it's definitely an improvement on the hardware.

it's like saying you modify a 2.0 litre engine, you're ought to reach a maximum where you cannot go anymore. so now they put on a big V12 10 litre engine. you know it's gonna be better than the 2.0 litre engine right? smile.gif

no, what i meant was (in ur terms) if ur 2.0L engine still not good enough (not decent enough for a 2.0L performance), fix it first b4 u come up with new car with a V12 10L engine..cheers..  rclxms.gif

hey anybody used the garmin XT location message..tried playing around with it but it seems the only way to actually get the message is when garmin xt is opened, am i right? anybody else tried playing with this..its cool by the way..  tongue.gif
*
ohHhh...now i know what you mean, sorry my bad. hehehe, well i guess Nokia has not much expertise in camera's as their phones even though 5MP still loses out to SE's lower MP camera. so they take the shortcut of putting in a larger engine instead of fine tuning the 2.0L tongue.gif

whats with the garmin MXT location message? what does it do? i'll go test it out later.

I almost bought the E71 but the bad camera killed the deal. Hopefully the E72 improves it.
*
the E series phone was never meant to be a camera phone, hence the camera is just a bonus. i think this is the same for most business phones. so far great camera phones are like those from SE. and they're amazing when it comes to taking pictures. but as for receiving emails and browsing the web? i'm not too sure abt that.

the main reason why i bought the E71 is so that i can serve me as my everyday usage phone as well as a business phone where i can always receive my emails on the go. and it does serve me well and i got no complains abt that.

well, lets hope the E72 will be better than the E71 and won't be out say in another year? hahahaha tongue.gif

i edit the automatic retrieval like last time, i put auto retrieve every 2 hour..
now i saw that on the upper left there, when it auto retrieve, there is a E sign there showing it is retrieving, but last time i use, there got no E sign there, what it mean? it using 3G to retrieve?
is it charge?
*
E sign means using Edge lor, and yeah...definitely it's billable as data charges, unless you got unlimited data plan ler.

-----------------------------------------------------------

regarding E72:

domokun posted that it has lifetime membership for Nokia Messaging?? does anybody know when will the Trial version expire? i'm kinda enjoying my push mail from nokia messaging.

is there any code to type to restart my phone? i was trying to configure my email settings and it said that my phone memory is full.

memory as in RAM? so what i did was switch-off and switch-on the phone again, problem solved. i haven't shut down my phone since i bought it from day one. and today i was using it as a modem for 3G internet the whole afternoon while i was at my customers place. could this be the problem?

also, how do we check the RAM utilization on the E71?

Added on June 22, 2009, 9:37 pmmanage to do all the above by installing Jbak Task Manager. r0x0r program!!!

i had apply all the tips from the first page oso.. till now, my batt nvr last more than 2days.. i will try monitor for few more weeks n c.. if reali cant last longer than 2 days, i will seek for nokia... envy tat ur E71 can last so long... mine after 1 nite in standby mode oso drop a bar... sad.gif
*
what are you using your phone for? for me, i charge my phone everyday. cause before i sleep, my battery on average will left 2-3 bars. i know this can last another half more day, but i ain't taking the risk as i need my phone on all the time.

if ur always on the phone, checking emails, sms-ing, using garmin occasionally, playing a few games then i think the battery will last approximately 1 half days. asking for 2 days is abit too much i guess.

or maybe ur battery really is faulty, so you can try to get nokia to change it for u if it's an original phone and not AP.

let us know the outcome if u changed ur battery....

my E71 also can last 'upto' to 2days only but 1day and a half i have to charge already, dun like the battery going empty halfway n i try my best not to charge while sleeping (full only i disconnect the charger).

a tip on garmin xt, change 'backlight override' to 'only when speaking' as the backlight turned on all the time affects your battery life, aside from the 'background service'. biggrin.gif

yup JBAK Taskman roxx... tongue.gif can soft reboot and clear memory...
*
if i clear memory, what does it actually do? it'll kill all my process to clear memory? or it will just refresh whatever memory that has been used before but nto released properly.
