Simple reason, you sell when the stock move.

You hold because the stock didn't move.

So generally most punters ended up with a bunch of counters that didn't move or better word stuck.

But those sold continue moving up, because you sell when it first move. When a stock move to the upside, it moves a considerable few days to a period before it stopped, but generally people tend to sell when it moves in the first few day. 

Over long term, from the chart, stock price movement is like "mountain shape" up/down a period of time before trend change. It seldom move in zig-zag pattern if look at longer term because when it moves (both way), it always has some momemtum is going on due to sentiment issue.

If I have KNM at 34, at 45, I will do nothing. I will set a floor price to protect the profit at around 42 or so.
As simple as that.

ur buy stock is try to catch the bottom as possible (by average down), but when sell stock ur not catch the highest as possible (by average up). But, all those trading skill ned some capital.
