Try using disk utility and format the hdd using GUID partition table.

Boot the Mac OSX installer disk, then when installer is booted, go to apple menu, select disk utility.

Then your plug at FW400 is 6 or 4 pins?

Then i got problems with my DV cam which using 4pins.
So the adapter is most suited, coz can connect back to my 6 pins-4 pins cable.

Sometimes it's not always true.. I did had this problem last time with my G4, the screw for the processor is totally different. If you tried to use another screw it will never get totally fit. Still can feel the processor not intact to the socket.

Anyway do you all did found this kinda stuff for Mac Mini?

Maybe the cache is low..My WD 500GB is 16MB cache..but 3.5 inch(desktop) n summore 7200rpm.

Have anyone here ever upgrade Mac Pro RAM? And are you made it during ACPP period or after it?

I'm asking this question cause getting the FB-DIMM directly from Apple will cause me a bomb, further mine still covered by ACPP. So need someone that have experience on this. If no one can answer this then later I'll ask wei or eithanius.

As general the question shall go to PC forum..as the most u can go on every Original Mac is Apple Hardware Test, which even need to be booted via DVD. Not flaming but it's not logical for me to think even how to diagnose the symptom..

n8210..you don't understand what we're saying. as the question you was asking is about the RAM thing, and your hardware is PC base..It's not about Mac OS whatsoever..It's the fundamental of the machine itself. If u using mac the EFI will auto-configure all the ram setting (CAS latency etc..) where else BIOS sometimes need a manual touch on the parameter..so the best thing to arise this question is on the PC forum..

If you talking about you have using PC since Win95 what's the great thing? Have u ever use PC that is solely a CPU, monitor and keyboard? Have you ever configure the IRQ to define with every single add-on card? Please this forum is not to show off something but to resolve something. If the question is not right for since the 1st step then everything is haywire..

About experience it can be at different way. Myself try it all at the shop, at my former office etc..there's lot's of way to learn Mac..hackintosh made available due to Apple switching to Intel processor..If say PowerPC system is succesful before this I think you will never had a chance even to do such said system..

And one more thing, do your system chimes? Yes for sure not is it? Do you know the Mac chimes is 1st indicator to say the mac hardware is in order..

Have u tought most people in Malaysia buying it easy way? Me also buying my mac with my own hard-earned money..But the payback was the long-lasting machines (not sure bout the portables, but the desktop so far can exceed more than 7 yrs age).

Is it ok for me to mix the 2GB module with 4GB module for my Mac Pro?
