Hi, Im currently using MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Bought May 2015 from Apple Online store). Noted the screen become stained today after clean with wet tissue and damp cloth, most probably damaged antiglare coating? First time seeing this happen. Such heartache. Warranty expired. Am i eligible to claim for a fix at authorized apple service centre? Noted similar issue with other Macbook users. Thanks.

QUOTE(persona93 @ Nov 7 2016, 10:55 PM) Hi bro, I bought mine February 2015 also having the same problem though mine is so teruk on the sides Noted with thanks. Probably will try early next year since quality program valids for 3 years..still need my macbook for daily use for now.» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I also read that Apple acknowledges this issue (though I dunno how is it like in M'sia) but I've never rectify it yet personally with Apple. Scared they might just take my laptop in and I will not have anything to do my work on I'm also afraid the longer I delay the less chances I'll have on getting this fixed. Like you, I also highly appreciate other sifus opinions on this matter Edited : Found this thread and I'm gonna do exactly what the TS did. You should try too https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3878283 |

Update oct 2017: Sent to apple authorised service provider.. left few days for them to check.. then informed the screen is eligible for replacement FOC though warranty over. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technology/apple/11940416/Apple-admits-issues-with-MacBook-anti-reflective-screen-coating.html http://bgr.com/2015/10/19/apple-macbook-pro-staingate-free-fix/ Also noted battery slightly expanded during checking. Asked me whether want to replace the battery (together with the whole keyboard lower clam section) costing rm1.5k. Is it really that expensive? |
