If it have soft edges it could be what we call a dark spot. If you see a tiny solid square block is a dead/stuck pixel.
Anyway, both is a defect. Although all brand will have certain policy on LCD defect (ie only certain amount you can claim under warranty), but there's no harm to try calling AppleCare. They only operate on office hour. Try calling Monday morning. |

Do not use "so called OEM". Power is not something you can afford to cheapskate on. Use at your own risk. I've seen some cases that the so called OEM charger cause haywire.
To be honest, there's no such thing as OEM for Apple products. 3rd party or china imitation is more like it. Try asking anyone with original battery to loan you a moment to test. |

Yeap, it's slow. I did 60GB in about 40mins, FW800 connections. And here's my old IDE RAID-1 FW800 casing:

QUOTE(mattkhoo87 @ Aug 22 2009, 12:04 PM) i did buy an original battery(2nd hand one) and the same problem occured.. so i brought my macbook to mac city to check, they said the wire connection from the battery connector to the logic board is burnt... and they quoted me a price to repair which cost up to RM1700+.. anyone has any thoughts? of course i told them not to repair it cos i might as well buy a new macbook if i were to repair it at that price.. The damage might already been done the moment you put in the "OEM" battery. So put in a ori battery later on wont solve anything. |

Check your charger grounding.
Bad grounding will cause trackpad issue. If you using the 3pin plug on your charger brick, change to the long cable 3pin plug. |

QUOTE(stillen @ Oct 6 2009, 01:57 AM) hi guys, i have a question. By saying dent I presume yours is the unibody model. There's no way to repair dent. Once on it, it will stay on. This is metal with fine finishing. Any further attempt to "un-dent" it by bending will only cause more deformation. The only way is to replace the case.i tossed my macbook(with sleeves of course) on to the car seat, but accidentally hit the handbrake tip. now there's a small little dent near the apple logo. is there anyway way to repair it? thanks. QUOTE(mfitri77 @ Oct 8 2009, 02:13 PM) I have a macbook pro 13 inch, and was wondering if upgrading the hard disk will void the apple warranty. If it doesn't void the warranty, then is it better to do it a a mac store, or can we just go to any of the shops in lowyat and ask for an upgrade? By officially, end user are not allow to open the MacBook Pro. All parts should be done by certified Apple Technician. But there're many ppl who have DIY the HDD swap. So long you keep the original HDD it should be fine. Should you need to send to 3rd party, make sure they are reliable. Is it advisable to use a faster 7200 rpm disk? The apple store only allowed configuration using 5400 rpm disk or solid state drives. I've done many 7200RPM HDD upgrade for clients. They are all happy with the upgrade. It seems like your MBP is trying to recover from a deep sleep. I think there are some issue with your filesystem.
Here's something you can try: - Put in the Software Disc 1 came with your MBP or the retail OSX DVD. Restart by holding "C" with the disc inside. Wait for loading complete. Select the language. Then go to the top menu select Utilities -> Disk Utility. Select your HDD then "Repair Permission". - Follow the instruction for your model: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411 if all those still doesn't fix. You need another mac to do a repair. |

That could be many reason. Lack of maintenance is the easiest cause.
Just keep the habit to run Repair Permission once a while. Especially after software update / install. |

If your OSX booting fine just go to Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility. There's no need to use the DVD.

Have you try SMC reset?
You might have to erase your "sleepimage" file. http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/tssleepimage.html |
