Inti seems to be capitalizing on the fact that tuition centres in KL do not provide good campus life. I believe Inti will one day pose serious challenge to Sunway, healthy competition smile.gif

Hi guys,

I am joining the upcoming Deloitte Tax Challenge and few legislations will be tested in the challenge.

I am wondering, is there any website where we can download the actual legislation of certain Acts such as Malaysia Income Tax Act, the real Act, word by word as approved by Parliament?

Thanks

Guys, today at college, I received a notice saying that ACCA will increase the exam fees for Dec sitting.

I also saw something like "applicable for those who sign up after August XX"

Anyone know anything about this?

Tell me about it! Freaking ACCA!

Only 1 solution, save 10 pages at a time. So yeah, tens of batches to do. Took me very little time only, thanks to lovely ACCA, FRIGGIN' 6 HOURS TO DOWNLOAD 123 PAGES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So ya, you bet I spammed on their comment box cussing their 'high speed'.
*
Actually there is a solution, you use rapidshare remote upload feature to upload the PDF file, then download using RS super fast server.

If you post the link here I'll help you

Can anyone help me with this question? I have discussed with my friend about this but we couldn't come to a conclusion.

Peter was given a loan of RM500k by ABC to finance his expenses. The loan was taken by ABC from Hong Leong Bank where interest of RM60k. Peter needs to pay half of the interest cost. Peter used RM300k to finance acquisition of his house, which is the second house acquired during this year. He used RM160k to purchase a car. The balance of the cash is used to finance his overseas holiday. How much is the taxable benefits for Peter?

I cannot determine how much is the aggregate loan balance and the principal amount. Help please!!!
*
Taxable benefit should be interest subsidized by the company which should be half of the interest cost borned by the employer.

Added on August 15, 2009, 3:39 pmGuys, I also want to ask.

As for OBU, when I logged in into myACCA, it states that I am not enrolled into OBU but I have already indicated that I want to enroll into OBU since my CAT days.

I am currently doing F7 8 9, and my results for F4 5 6 will be out this coming Monday, by when should I enroll for OBU ?

Wait until you get results for all fundamental papers first.
Then average the 6 paper marks.
If you are within range of 2nd upper or first class then consider.
*
So right now I don't bother about anything first?

Btw, is there any possibility that one can miss the chance to do OBU ?

Thanks

Yup, but there is an amount exempted so the taxable benefits is actually less than half but I couldn't work out the exempted amount sad.gif Anyone knows?
*
Is it? I didn't know that any part of it is exempted, on what basis is it exempted?

Btw, good luck everyone !!!

In Sunway, so far highest for F4 seems to be 83, F5, 83, F6, 90.

Anyone here know anyone who got higher than those?

Regarding a question a few pages back about whether it's worth it to get ACCA to remark your papers, my thoughts are the same as everyone else who had expressed their opinion. Chances of them passing you is very slim, but it is not entirely impossible. One of my friends who did her F5 in Sunway two sems ago managed to change her 48 to a 51 after asking them to remark. But that's the only case I've heard where the student gets the better end of things.

Out of curiousity, at what age did most of you guys graduate at? I've a 19 year old friend who just completed his ACCA..damnn...
*
Well, according to acca statistics, only 1-2% who requested for remark, managed to have their marks converted

I cross referenced with a lot of my optional friends & most didnt expect to pass P4 with ease but turn out failing P6.
It seems many didnt see it coming for tax in my batch, I think pass rates will certainly be very low for tax this seating. Finance pass rates has already been marked down bcos of international boycott & complaint. Some wants to sent virus to Bob Ryan too.  tongue.gif

Hey keep up the good work until you finish all acca papers. Marks will go very funny in professional level, just ask any of your sunway seniors.  biggrin.gif . I met some who aced 90 in some F papers in my class went cucko banana when comes to paper like P2 & P4 & P6.

Actually it does matter a bit if anyone is interested in joining Big firms or company especially with current economic climate. Investment banking apprenticeship programme checks rigorously & Big 4 does. According to a HR manager I met during ACCA career fair told me about 3 key indicators :
1) Duration completed (preferably within 3 years)
2) Consistency (not failing I guess)
3) Marks (they need to know your core competency matching with job description, if excel in tax but apply for finance post sort of scenario....)
*
Thanks for the advice, that will prevent me from being complacent smile.gif
