probably in 2 heats of 16players, or more heats in multiples of 4, followed by a final heat. of course, its just a guesstimate

I already stated: TIME LIMIT PLAY. It's a free for all fragfest where the most frag win after a certain limit of time. |

wouldn't that be a big bloody horrible mess? by lowering the numbers to 16 or 8, and setting a time limit of 1/2hour per heat, we can easily run and kao tim the thing in around 3 hours.
Heat1 = 4games of 8 players (32) Top 2 Advance (1/2hour - 45mins) Heat2 = 1game of 8 players (all those that advanced) (another 1/2hour) You can stop here and crown the top scorer, or take it even further for some awesome 1vs1 for the Top 2 of Heat 2. If we stop here, we've used 2 hours (adding a setup time of 30mins, add a little more if you like) Heat3 = 1vs1 (Time or score based(i.e. race to 30)) Maximum would be 4 hours (thats my estimate). TF2 would be the most time consuming, as if the teams are really balanced, one half of a match is 30mins (for push maps, and assuming no one reached a score of 4wins). For ABC maps it can take as little as 15-20mins, and a max of 30mins to finish a match. Most of the time wasting comes from the setup time (as seen in the previous tourneys) so the best would be give them a time limit, and if they cant setup within that time, sayonara =X the good thing is we can run all the same phase matches concurrently, since PCs are not limited like at a CC. so depending on the bracket type (single or double elimination) you can run 4matches, then another 4 for both brackets (assuming DE), then 2matches, and final 2 matches for placing deciders should all in all take around 5-6hours, with lots of setup time included. CSS/CS1.6 i got no input since i never really watched from start to finish, but i can assume that it can be run in almost the same fashion as TF2 considering the time required for a match. L4D is the longest if its Time Trial, but since its VS, it should be shorter if you use the map formats like i think was mentioned in this thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/977103 so each round would be roughly 30-45 mins (not including some setup time) This post has been edited by strife_personified: Apr 5 2009, 06:46 PM |

Okay, so this is my proposal.
For CS:S 30 minutes full round. Team with most frag win. For CS 1.6 30 minutes full round. Team with most frag win. For TF2 Determined by map but max 30 minutes Checkpoint map. Team with most frag win. For L4D Time Trial. The fastest team win. Any good idea? PS: Ah yeah, HL2 : DM is NOT INCLUDED in the mini tourney. This post has been edited by CZero: Apr 6 2009, 01:40 PM |

for cs:s & cs1.6, i suggest use the standard "MR15" format la.....i mean "lo3.exec" command...let me explain
its gonna be 2 side, CT side and Terrorist side....15 round everyside...so 2 side make it 30 round....whichever team reach the 16th point score 1st win the game.... GTG This post has been edited by Punish: Apr 6 2009, 03:18 PM |

i tot we got 38 hours....but nvm....heres is my carculation....every round should consume about 2 minutes....so 30 round = 2min x 30round = 1hour MAX or less per match....so 8 team with 3 knockout stage, quater8 to semi4 to final will consume approximately about 3 hours if done properly...so how, still not enuff time...??
hope tats help GTG This post has been edited by Punish: Apr 6 2009, 03:39 PM |

the other alternative is to use the Championship gaming series (CGS) rules......its kinda the same with MR15, the different is, money set to max 16k, its only gonna be 9 round instead of 15, so 2 side make it 18 round.....the timeround also been shorten to 1min+ i dont remember, so everygame just gonna take approximately 20min+ Max or less.... so 20 minutes+ per match....what do u guys think..??
my point is, if possible, try to stick to the normal standard rules to avoid confusion.... GTG This post has been edited by Punish: Apr 6 2009, 04:10 PM |
