SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad ™ wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States. As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the U.S. and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, during the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation. However, traffic to other countries will not be affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 April 2009 and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.
Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

I was on 124.82 ips just then and couldn't get anywhere including lowyat, so i reconnected on 118.101 and i seem to be able to get a little bit further now. Only to lowyat that is.

quality is somehow not in TMNUT's service. It has been providing rubbish service for years

Is really bad right now. Can't do much access except at lowyat forum.

cant access anything cept google main page + LYN... bad... very bad....

only can surf lyn now... the rest is like sh1t.....

the thing is the most minor outages (or outages with other major alternative routes)
they use it as an excuse, who are the cheating?
it is like 5% distruption, the whole streamyx slow like 80%

btw, you can still access sites other than USA/ Hong Kong sites (as mentioned in the interruption message). Try www.abc.net.au or any other Australian sites if you want to kill sometimes

TMnut using second hand/cheap hardware for their system? How come so many times got problem and almost every month least got one issue.

using one of my home notebooks here, uninstalled windows live messenger 2009 since it has more connection problems than 8.5
Now so screamyx untill cannot download 8.5, even pages don't load

unless the screamyx minded people segregate their bandwidth towards certain ranges and change the ranges a certain area you can get to please certain business customers. cause like one of those guys mentioned earlier most of the equipment MIGHT have kena overloaded with conficker data traffic, misconfigured or down as usual.

Since Streamyx disruption in December 2008, I went out and subscribed to Izzi (6 months free 1 month). So far, Izzi has been consistently average while Streamyx has not fully recovered from the December 2008.

Now 31 March 2009, another disruption. Buey tahan liao...

Website where server is hosted overseas are either extremely SLOW or non-reachable.

Problem started 9pm at my area.

try connect to 60.xx.xxx.xxx
i try reconnect several times..now i able to surf fast & msn is online.

I could tell exactly when my disruption started. Connection screwed up some time around 7-8 pm, a few hours ago. Certain foreign sites are accessible (like JewTube), but Wikifagia, Wikia and BBC aren't.

Read newspapers , all of ISP in the world had infected by a virus . The Microsoft is doing all their best to catch the hackers o-o

124.13.*.* seems to fare way better than 124.82.*.* - I'm able to load some international sites now like wikipedia and some servers in Russia and some of my ps3 gamesites but that's as far as it goes. I guess it's slowly coming back but it was damn hard trying to get anything besides the 124.82 ip. At one point I got 115.134 which I have never gotten before, I usually get 115.132 in that range. Guess I'll wait another hour or two.

so fast for local sites .... no connection pretty much for anything outside. i am trying to download my eight mails.... 150kb taking approx. 20 minutes. what the hell???

Btw, I see HTTP traffic throttling once passed 7:30am.
Before 7:30am, my VisualWget max out at 160 kilobyte/sec. After 7:30am, it maxes out at 30 kilobyte/sec and hardly reach 40!

The best part I think, is that I don't see this announcement anywhere on the main streamyx site.
But yeah, after 9pm last night, my connection deteriorated to a point that it was so bad, I turned my computer off and watched TV instead. Nice change of pace though.

No wonder these few days always get timed out. Sigh... lucky still better than Maxis HSPDA. Saw my friend using it and since they dont have 3G in Sg Buloh, only using UTMS and max out at 54kbps. Another friend with HSPDA but only 2bar, get only 500kbps.

U know whats the weird thing is... before i went to work today, i just test the internet... still sucky since yesterday.

But since in office now, the internet seems ok. WTF, izzit just me or TM give better lines to office but we at home users suffering?

What nonsense are you talking about, i'm in office, and it sucks.

I'd rather that they can give better service to some, than for all to suffer.

not all companies use screamyx....some use other ISP...like my company, they use TIME...

how camo business lines are unaffected? How come other telco ISPs line not affected. Don't always eat the bullshit telekom feeding the customers.

Yesterday lost internet connection. Today got back but very slow...brilliant...

I'd tried to called them since this morning and only managed to get through just now. The CS like never know what happened and said this problem is resolved already!! She dare to say it's my side problem (really get from me) So clever say within 2 days the line would be OK...I asked OK as in what OK she keeps silent. Must be some rookie!!

Overall getting to CS 20 mins waits and another 15 mins for billing requests!!
