QUOTE(finkl1 @ Mar 30 2009, 08:37 PM) It's possible the car to price from RM$65k as base model...but this is going to be of a manual transmission, while the auto would go 5-8k more range. so likely, the car would be an alternative to local and japanese cars. Singapore has 3 variant: EX, SX and Premium. Likely, only 2 variant might come in...and if Kia was smart...a manual transmission would be good. I read this is a DOHC Gamma engine...so at 122hp @6300rpm, the FC test would be challenged. However, on spirited driving, with proper suspension+reinforced bars...it's gonna be a nice car to drive on open roads. Just gotta see if the noise insulation is good. Best of luck Kia. I doubt the starting price will be RM 65K or so... This is because, Kia Forte is a C-segment car, meaning it is the same class level as Hyundai Elantra (its cousin), Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic...

Check out the Singaporean Forum, even they also was expecting the car price will be expensive but when it was launch it was way cheaper and it is cheaper than Vios. But with this BN Gov anything is possible to protect Proton.

whatever it copied, it still looks good right? isn't it great that we can get a car that has the accord euro' or civic's good looks at a lower price? don't bother lah who copied who. most important thing is that it is more affordable than the cars it copied.

But with this BN Gov anything is possible to protect Proton. that is in singapore, if they r really cheaper than vios, i doubt there will be anyone who buy vios in the future, everyone will just change to forte, nothing goood about vios, just that fuel consumption is it's selling point. if u say about local car market, i dont think it will affect that much since local cars r below 60k, i mean the for the new model with CPS engine.

Thats why I believe Naza should price it below 69K cause Vios J variant also going for 69K. On top of that the pending Exora will be sold below 76K too, looks like there will be a lot of excitement on our way.

the outlook is good! interior looks nice too!!! but kia is still kia. naza service problem, kia's high FC and bad record of kia's cars will shun potential buyers away...
