QUOTE(amduser @ Mar 30 2009, 06:47 PM) inside look nice, wonder wat's the spec of this car the out look is that a civic? The exterior design of Kia Forte is designed by Peter Schreyer.... Before his job in Kia, he is the one who designed the first generation Audi TT and Volkswagen Concept R... I like his design, because his design emphasize on clean lines, not complicated ones like Bangle This post has been edited by Kampung2005: Mar 30 2009, 07:05 PM

Getting Started

i spotted a trend here actually.
those cars launched outside malaysia got this magnificient interiors i.e screen, push start button, fantastic audio etc etc the lot. the same goes to the exteriors.
when they come to our shores, i find that many of those features are gone. why?
the same i think will happen to this forte. the navi monitor at the centre gonna be gone. the 6 speed transmission also gonna gone. the fantastic red push start button also quite likely to be dismiss.
why?
dont say here we in malaysia dont really need those stuffs. i mean politics aside, we can pay whatever the price (we think fit the car). and this forte, if it comes with all the features in the pictures above and priced at 100-110k, I am sure it will still sell like hot chocs.
i love the ignition thing.

QUOTE(-YellowSn0w- @ Mar 30 2009, 07:10 PM) omg is cerato , look like curi design from Honda civic US edition ? Why curi when the guy designed it, has designed Audi TT and VW before.... Anyway, since the Chevrolet Cruze that will come to Malaysia will have 6 speed automatic transmission, hopefully that will compel Naza to bring at least 5 speed automatic transmission, as this is the best that the Kia offers in Forte

WHen a designer opts for a radical design, all throw words at him. For example; Chris Bangle.
When a designer opt for a conservative approach and opt for the proven lovable lines, people say its copied from tis lah, that lah.

QUOTE(-YellowSn0w- @ Mar 30 2009, 08:01 PM) more stuff more expensive ma , if u need those tambah sendiri la cannot man. some things are best to be factory-fitted. but yeah there are lots of places can do fantastic job putting some parts like the navi monitors, side signals etc etc. seen a latio hatchback with a beautiful, lavish looking centre monitor recently. but come on, if they are want to be cautious on the market demand, just launch variants of the forte. tag them with wise prices, surely no problem maaa..

It's possible the car to price from RM$65k as base model...but this is going to be of a manual transmission, while the auto would go 5-8k more range.
so likely, the car would be an alternative to local and japanese cars.
Singapore has 3 variant: EX, SX and Premium.
Likely, only 2 variant might come in...and if Kia was smart...a manual transmission would be good.
I read this is a DOHC Gamma engine...so at 122hp @6300rpm, the FC test would be challenged. However, on spirited driving, with proper suspension+reinforced bars...it's gonna be a nice car to drive on open roads.
Just gotta see if the noise insulation is good.
Best of luck Kia.
