i'm now a final year university student and my dell xps is now, i think, reaching it's end of usable life. i need an advice on purchasing a new laptop.

trouble is, will it be the timeline x 2nd gen of the mac book air 13 inch (with the sandy bridge one, i hope, have to wait though)?

my house already owned a MBA 13" and it is a pleasure to work with that mac. but most of my thesis work require me to use the corel draw application and most software only runs in windows. i noticed that if using boot camp, most of the SSD spaces are consumed by the windows partition. in addition to that, i am also a gamer. a hardcore one, prefer quality and speed.

but now still having trouble of thinking which one is it? i dont want a MBP cause it is too bulky for me. i tried that unit already. any advice? icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

Since you are mentioning that you are hardcore gamer, i srsly suggest you get the acer (from your choice). MBA not a powerful machine..

are there any more choice besides acer timeline x? the one with the same power but from different brand? thanks for the suggestion. if i were a casual gamer, should i go for the MBA?

Next Gen MBA might be equipped with Intel 3000HD.. for casual gaming, especially the old game, maybe. Im cant confirm since well,.. its integrated Intel.

Thing  to consider too is using SSD, you might having limited space for bootcamp.

wow, so many choices. still have to consider among these options. since i spotted the alienware m14x have cheaper price than my dell xps (3 years ago, i bought the dell for 4499), may consider the alienware.
