@bruncit, Er.. Mac's not compatible with what?! And what spare parts are you referring to?! I doubt you'll have much problems; more and more people seem to be shifting over to Macs of late I'll say go ahead and get urself a Mac; provided you're not planning to use it as a gaming rig

@John89, What do U wish to clarify? ACPP extends the warranty an additional 2 years. If U buy ACPP at the same time U purchase ur Mac, U have up to 3 years warranty. U can also choose to purchase the ACPP within the 1st year of ur Mac purchase.

@lawl, Wait it out for a couple of weeks; perhaps then the new MBPs will be shipped with SL. I too am still deciding when is a good time to place an order; probably do it 1st September

@Qool, I know a lot of Creative Directors/Executive Creative Directos who uses a MB. Thus far, no one I know is carrying an MBP but that's probably because Apple just released the 13" one. If these people can live with its speed; I'm sure the MBP you're looking at will be suffice for your usage.
Also, U can't really quite say the specs on the MBP 13" is inferior, neither is it lower end; compare it with the Sony Vaio's + Fujitsu's and U'll realise the price is almost thereabouts.

@Qool, The iPod Touch promo is onli available in the USA; unfortunately it's not available to us here in MY. Am not sure about Switch's Education Discount but if you really want, U could always place the order Online; just make sure U actually do qualify for the discount though they don't really check! Also, the 15" MBP all comes with 4GB RAM. If you get the 13" one, the 2.53GHz version comes with 4GB RAM. Alternatively I think the APR's giving a pretty good deal in RAM upgrade

@daydreaming, I got the 2.54GHz one *smiles* but I guess it really depends on what you wanna use the laptop for. I would say even the specs on the MacBook is suffice for my needs but my budget was RM6k so I fully maximised it lor *gulps* @benji, I still think we shouldn't be exploiting it. Only use it if we really truly qualify. Then again, I qualify so muAhaHAhahAHhaHAHahHAh I can say that

@Qool, The Online Stores doesn't ship the Macs with SL pre installed. U do get a CPU Drop In Disc though. Installation of SL on a brand new 13" MBP takes roughly about 45 minutes.
Also, if I ain't mistaken, there's some sort of promotion at Machines; some freebies are up for grabs. I don't have the information on me but check out their website if you're interested.

@jasperng, I've not faced any heating issues; then again I haven't quite been checking but ever since I received this 13" MBP on Friday, I haven't switched it off and i don't think it's heating up.
Mine came pre-installed with Leopard but there was a Snow Leopard CPU Drop-In Disc. Thus far, no issues with SL on my system and Safari is very much more responsive on SL than on Leopard.

@jasperng, Lemme guess - this is your first Mac purchase? *smiles* Go with it, no need to worry. I've not looked back since I made my first purchase in 2007. Now, I'm almost everything Mac; except I don't like stuffing things into me ears so I never had an iPod

@jasperng, If what you're studying is going to require something that's Windows based then I'll recommend you consider getting a proper Windows based laptop and not a Mac. Otherwise, go with Mac; U certainly won't regret it!

@jasperng, U would roughly know what software you'll require depending on what course you've enrolled urself for. Don't get a Mac just cause we all support the decision; only u would know best if it's suitable or not for your coursework requirements @WhiteFlag, Just how do U make a comparison when you haven't tried both?

@Grajindo, Also, ask urself what your budget is. As I've shared once upon a time and to many people; I know a lot of great Creative people who use the MB because they find the MBP a lil heavy; of course now they mostly use the 13" MBP

@Lester1987, U come onto an Apple forum to ask Apple supporters if U should purchase an Apple? Do u not think you'll be getting biased answers?
