First intake of students into Taylor's Lakeside Campus scheduled for Jan 2010

In response to the ever-pressing need for knowledgeable human capital, Taylor's University College (TUC) is building a state-of-the-art modern tropical university campus fondly called Taylor's Lakeside Campus; an expansion in line with Malaysia's goal of becoming a regional centre of education excellence.

The RM450 million project located in Selangor, was officiated by Malaysia's Deputy Prime Minister, YAB Dato' Sri Haji Mohd Najib Tun Haji Abdul Razak in January 2007. Progress is well on track and Phase 1 will be completed by 2009, to coincide with Taylor's 40th anniversary in delivering quality education in Malaysia.

The new campus will open its door to the first batch of students in January 2010. Phase 1 of the campus, costing RM256 million, will cater to approximately 4,000 students. The campus will house state-of-the-art facilities such as the 4-storey glass edifice library, 600-pax auditorium, multi purpose halls, laboratories, practical rooms, hostel and scores of other world-class facilities.

Taylor's Lakeside Campus will house all existing tertiary programmes, currently located at various campuses in Selangor. Set on 27 acres of tropical greenery, the campus will also be surrounded by a revived 5.5 acre man-made lake, as well as a landscape of water plants, trees and flowering shrubs.

According to Taylor's Education Group Managing Director Dato' Loy Teik Ngan, the new Lakeside Campus reflects Taylor's commitment towards achieving Malaysia's goal of becoming a regional educational hub.

"Our unwavering commitment towards making Taylor's a centre of educational excellence stands firm and Taylor's Lakeside Campus is testament to our on-going endeavour to innovate and enhance the educational landscape by providing state-of-the-art infrastructure for local and international students," he commented.
