when is the next release?
i thought LR5.3 released on january.

i also one of the liferay user..i think to develop the portlet we should use netbeans because it is easy..just install the liferay portal server plugin and add liferay portal server at netbeans services..

instead of 5.3, liferay 6 is coming out soon.

btw, i've used eclipse to customize or develop new portlet.

can someone explain about soap/wsrp?
coz rite now i developing custom portlet on plugins on LR511.
let say the custom portlet save data on portal A and then portal B(another portal) want to use/manipulate the data from portal A for just display only.

any idea?

Hi all, is there any Liferay user group (admin and/or developer) discussion or meet-up in KL/Selangor ?

not that I am aware off.. but we could start one.. here ..

it's been awhile i already stop using Liferay, but now started to use it back, im going to propose it to my new company to use it as intranet portal. currently i tried to install LR 6.0.1,and i think it's a major upgrade.

Anybody here know how to use the workflow? is it already integrated with web content? and one more think is it now come with audit log?

Is that a lot company that using Liferay to do development?

I been using liferay since 4.2 doing the ext development, but seem like not much job opportunity in market, which i search keyword "liferay" at jobstreet, and dont seem much result pop up.

im not sure bout that but i very sure that SKALI using liferay to develop gov portal.
btw i just heard from my fren that uniKL's student start learning liferay for their final year project.

huh? using liferay for final year project? with ext-development or just using the CMS?

i think liferay is bit complicated for beginner, well that my thought.

i not using liferay to for FYP, but customize it as product for simple ERP.

actually u can use liferay as a platform. You can build portlet for additional functionality..

yup .. that wat we do, creating ext portlet, each portlet as a module

anyone know official release of liferay 6.
i did checkout from trunk and look like its already version 6.0.2

why not build it using plugin instead ? That way you will not touch the liferay ROOT folder. So easier for future upgrades..

fyi, there is no ext in liferay 6, everything in ext is conver to plugin name ext plugins.

btw, im waiting stable release of liferay 6. it already 6.0.3

Woww... There are many liferay users and implementers here. I thought in Malaysia only use Joomla, etc2 php based CMS..... hurray for Java...

Liferay EE 6.0 is officially launch.. now comes with IDE 1.0
