Ok, since i know lot of pple having this model, so it will be convinient to have its own thread to discuss anything related to it.

For those who own it already, Price and shop is not an issue, because it is all now depends on Panasonic Warranty for the next 5 Years.

Please share with us here if you're having problems with warranty claims, technical issues, etc.

adios.

Oi, do you suggest the pv80 will become more cheap because of the new model(s), or do you mean we should simply wait for the new and improved version...?

Added on March 24, 2009, 11:09 pmI want to add to this reply that if you're an xbox360 owner I cannot image a better screen to play your games on. Of course there are always better alternatives, but the pana has the best price/quality ratio if you'd ask me!

3K is about the lowest it will go. The PV80 will be replaced soon with whatever name and I bet it will hit 4k+ price again. Then all these folks will hunker down for the PV80 and no more liao and then hope and wait for next 2 yrs or the new PV80 to drop price every 3 months and the vicious cycle repeat itself!

3K is from those cash and carry or Low yat trader and if yuo want from retailer like SH, Court, Harvey etc it cost at least 3.5k

BTW, the PV80 is 5 yrs warranty. I doubt the replacement will carry that many years of warranty.

So far very happy with the PV80 for the last 2 weeks! Great on Wii, web surfing, Astro, and crappy DVD! Have not tried the HD movie yet. Saving up to buy the WD TV box but I already got the WD Book HD loaded with movies.

Think I throw away the card already! One thing for sure it won't cover any burn in or ghosting on the display!

This same for any Plasma TV.

5yrs warranty is standard for the PV80. Just search here in LYN, you will see the retailers.

The pv80 is a great model indeed. Don't worry, you all have amde a good purchase. Like handphones, models change all the time, but improvement is not really that noticeable.

i think we shall wait for the 2009 model to launch before making any statement, the improvement noticable or not we shall all know then. no need to speculate. rclxms.gif

Quite true, when PV80 was released it was 4200. It was at least 2 years till it came down again.

It is all about the money. Current 3k is affordable with 5 years warranty is the best deal. By 2013, we can always look forward to a better, improved model.

Cover - forgot oledi, but including transportation + parts + labour cost

Not Cover

Thunderstrike & Theft. SH offer 70 for extra cover to Thunder & Theft.

If u dont buy from SH, go to AIG to get the Home Contents insurance. Premium is 180-350, but they insured all your house electrical + furniture.

I don't think so you have to wait 2013. I think by 2011 or latest 2012, a new model would come out again!

Look at Sony, so fast new model comes out!. Nowdays, we cannot keep up to the latest trend as they change models so fast. I think plasma model changes are becoming like handphones.

My warranty finished 2014. Others should be around 2013. Every year got new model.

If 1 TV is enuff for ur home, So after 2013/2014 will start looking for new. Target will be 50" should be affordable also by that time.

So its not a loss buying almost obsolete model if the price is right.

You are right. By that time 50 inch would be much much lower than now. I think 50 inch might even be RM3000
