Hey guys, I just got my offer letter from mmu today to study deg in Tele Comm Eng. There're a few things I'd like to ask,

1) in the offer letter it is stated that I need to have a min requirement of band 3 for MUET within one year from the date of registration (this year, 7th June). Does it mean I have to take the MUET privately? I used my GCE 1119 to apply, is it still valid/recognised? Can I just tell them that I have sufficient requirement with my 1119?

2) During the orientation, is it compulsory to be smartly dressed as in collared shirt with slacks for guys? Is it also part of the class dress code? Or is it casual everyday for classes? ( I'm sorry to ask bout this) bcos they sure did emphasize alot on the formal dressing for the orientation.

Also, is there anyone out there who's got the same course as me? smile.gif

1) MUET is different well they require that, Like me i just completed mine and waiting for results. Took MUET privately.

2) Well better to keep a pair of slacks and track pants for orientation.I dont think i might be going also coz i did my diploma there 3 years back. Anyways, to class its not like sch, casual. I used to wear even slippers in diploma. smile.gif Well i guess you got offered in cyber right?

1) You can take MUET in MMU later, you must get at least band 3 before you graduate. No, 1119 is only for GCE O-Level. MUET is essential to all universities in Malaysia, regardless public or private. For your kind information, MUET = Malaysian English University Test

2) Yes, just dress smartly during orientation. You can wear casual for classes. smile.gif

If you are a male, they don't really care your attire but female yes, sometimes. smile.gif
Female just make sure exceed knee level then should be fine.

Subjective. smile.gif It depends on your interest. Job prospect? Nobody can predict it, isn't it? But no worry most of MMU graduates have no problem in getting jobs. I already got my job before I go out from MMU soon. smile.gif
Most of my friends are in DC anyway.

Depends on courses. smile.gif

Is that so difficult to wear long pants? Anyway, it depends on the security guard to stop you or not. Usually they don't but bad luck still happens sometimes.

Engineering, more to male lecturers. Oh ya, just prepare yourself a lot of the lecturers are foreigners. So, don't get cultural shock here. Sometimes you may have difficulty in understanding their accent. This applies to all, not only Engineering.

Well, not really a big deal when it comes to attire in MMU. You should be grateful you are in private university, in local university there is no such thing as hot or not. Just make sure it is tidy when in MMU. No sleeveless, spaghetti straps, mini skirts, mini shorts and etc. for female.
