QUOTE(ketonazole @ Apr 10 2012, 01:05 AM)
hi,
I am used to using B&L 38, and they feel awesome.
but in the latest purchase, which i just opened the box last week, my eyes feel really irritated while wearing them. I feel there's something in my eyes?

I used to not feel anything at all. Do you know any possible reason for that?

thanks
*
Pls bring the lens back to the shop where u bought it and ask the optometrist there to check ur eyes and lens with slit lamp.

No, if the lens has been washed with dettol or tap water, pls dispose of them immediately.

i'm a new contact lens user and i bought biomedic daily contact lens, it took me more than 15 minutes to get them on and after 30 minutes trying to put on the contacts, if i still cant get it on, i'll give up. my power is -1.25 and i used the contact occasionally.

can you recommend me any other brand? something easy to put on.

thanks

U should try a firmer lens so that its easier to handle.

If u prefer daily lens, u can try acuvue trueye which i think its the most firm daily lens available. Best is get a pair to try 1st rather than getting in box.

hello, i have been wearing contacts for almost two years now. i used to wear baush and lomb dalies but i switched to b+l soflens 59 beacuse its quite expensive to wear dailies. however, when i wear the lens, after a while it will start to move up my eye and wont stick to the centre. i dont think there is a problem with the fit because it only happens to my right eye. is this because my eye is too dry? if so, what other brands are suitable to overcome this condition? i have also tried air optix but also have the same problem.

hello helpful folks! biggrin.gif tongue.gif

recently i've started wearing lenses (2 months half to be precise) n have been wearing air optix but unfortunately my eyes would feel very tired n dry after 3 -4 hrs of wearing

I started off with Complete multi-purpose solution n currently using revita lens but the results r the same

i normally apply a drop of Blink Contacts (eye-drop) n the results r still the same

any idea what may have prevented me from wearing lenses for long hrs? sad.gif

Hi, it seems like your right eye has a steeper curvature than left eye, thus all lenses you use on right eye move more. The lens will not move if your right eye is dry, the lens will stick and suck on it if dry, worst case scenario is pop out if very very dry. You need a steeper lens on right eye. U need to see an optometrist to measure the curvature of right eye because anyone can recommend u a suitable lens, thanks.

tired eyes after wearing lens can be caused by wrong power lens, its very very common. please see an optometrist for eye check and contact lens power prescription. eye drops wont help if power is all wrong.

dry eyes can be relieved by putting drops but dry eyes wont causes tiredness. thanks

Oh i see. but the base curve is the same as the daily lens and i never had that problem with the dailies. and when my lens moves up my eye feels sore and painful, not like the lens is poking but like a burning feeling. no redness though. :/

I do not know what to say sbout the contact lenses ... 3 years ago I started with problems in my eyes I was ready to use them for a short time everything worked fine until my eyes began to irritate and cause problems ...
Shortly after that I decided to have surgery and today may be one of the best decisions I ever made in my life

Regards

I've been using Softlens 38 since I started using contact lenses almost 10 years ago, only tried other brands when I needed to use dailies for a holiday.

Kinda confusing now with so many brands and types available, and when I tried to get explanations/recommendations from the shops I feel that most just stick to the brands they carry or what's more expensive =/

Does anyone have any recommendations for monthlies that can be worn for long hours comfortably (Say about 10 hours? Softlens 38 not so great after 5 hours or so =/ My eyes get so tired after that) but aren't so expensive either?

If you have no problem with daily lens, its best to stick to it. You can save with monthly lens but its useless if it cant give you clear and comfortable vision, thanks.

I have many post LASIK customers getting contact lens from me now, maybe their eye power wasnt stablized yet when they had the LASIK done. Dont be suprise when you need a glasses or contact lens again when enhancement surgery failed to improved your vision further. You will need 1 anyway when you are 40 year old.

Softlens 38 is for budget user who wants a thin lens.
For monthly you can try air optix, since it has lowest water content among all lenses, and high oxygen flux.

Contact lens will not drop out from eyes unless when its too dry, i never had my lens pop out when i play futsal. For swimming, you need to use goggle, and make sure you dispose of it after expose to water. Its best to use daily lens for sport. thanks.

Hi, I saw this disturbing picture in facebook about contact lenses melting beneath a person's eyes when he had a barbecue party with his friends. He was too close to the grilling barbecues and he stared at the fire for a couple of minutes. He was now completely blind. Do you think it is possible for this to happen?
*
You can try it yourself, just hold a contact lens on your palm and go near the fire. If it melts, then you will be very very rich because you can start suing all the contact lens companies for compensation. Good luck!
