er... guy these blox not same with the few that i got years ago... the set i got have an owl a tiger and more...
Welcome, Kent.

Owl and Tiger Blox? Sounds like maybe first generation Blox i.e. before NeoBlox. Nightwise and Leoblaze?
Maybe you can find some of their names here?
Of course, there are a whole lot of others like convention-only/games releases.

About buying Blox - parts lots and MIBs on eBay, Yahoo! Japan Auctions, etc. That will probably help.
Any Zoids customisers here using Blox in their work?

Let me show you a short review on ACADEMY ZOIDS mainly this Blade Liger.

As you can see Academy Zoids are still made in Thailand back in the 90's. And im very sure they are made in China now. NOT KOREA which many people thought. They are still made in TOMY manufacturing plant. Also the rumours of Academy being knockoff/bootleg and quality issue are all bullshyt. One thing for certain ACADEMY sells cheap zoids which only meant to be sold in KOREA only, license to ACADEMY KOREA only and for KOREA MARKET ONLY. But of coz having the internet there are no control over online distribution. As you can see the quality of the sprue is as good as any TOMY zoids, the only differences are the ACADEMY logo being on the box and on the manual with Korean writings. So actually there is NO harm in getting Academy zoids which are still actively selling in some parts of the world. Who knows Korea retail might have abundance of zoids around.

So having ACADEMY leaked world wide in the late 90's threatens the existing TOMY labeled zoids which sells much expensive. TOMY takes action.

I have heard the reason ACADEMY got the franchise license for TOMY zoids back then was the launch of the Zoids anime Chaotic Century Korean Dub. Therefore a new website was launch www.academy.co.kr/zoids they were advise not to publish the list of zoids product under Academy on their official website which causes infringement of contract and was taken down in 2008. This happened when Takara Tomy merge. So now, the official site doesn't show the product anymore. Now under the new official fan site www.zoidsclub.com own by Academy there are only cover shots from the Academy Line. Probably, Academy was saying If I cant publish on ACADEMY OFFICIAL SITE, then i publish somewhere else lor. To me it seems like a loop hole in the contract.

Just to give you an example of the price of Academy zoids 2 years back.
RM99 for Mad Thunder
RM39 for Liger Zero
RM69 for Death Stinger
RM69 for Energy Liger
RM39 for Sheild Liger
RM39 for Blade Liger

When TOMY first release these zoids cost almost RM89-99 at Parkson and Jusco. So Academy cheap, people say lousy quality and could be bootleg lor.

If plastic quality is good, stickers and parts the same - Academy Zoids would be my choice. Assuming sellers still keeping them cheaper than TomyTakara, that is. Are Academy Zoids still in production?

@Edmaestro, Ahtiven and anyone with experience:
Do your proxy bidding/buying service providers also cover Korean websites? Any web addresses to share?

So far on my rounds of KL shops, have not seen a lot of Zoids Blox.
Saw Chimera Dragon once at One Utama toy shop but they seem to be under renovation recently. Sorry, forgot to take note of the name.

Was looking at some Academy Zoids from Korean sellers on eBay. Looks like average price is about USD50 for model kits like Liger Zero.
Anyone went to CSC (China Square Central?) in Singapore recently? Are there a lot of Zoids sellers there still?

Wow. Academy Salamander was RM59.90. That means TOMY version must have cost more than that?!
And Legend Blox Iron Kongs would make very beautiful decoration for indoor palm plants. biggrin.gif
