Rider, Thanks for showing off the custom madthunder. This looks doable, was thinking of making a customs zoids 2 set, this is definately inspiring!

Added on April 22, 2009, 4:33 pmNice ones ed. Mine are too vintage for me to customize. Maybe if I can find a spare....

Nice clean job morgen. It's good enough to post on Zp don't you worry. Am sure you will get a lot of good comments there too. So you finally going to finish up the other doggie?

Something different. Not really zoids but robotic animals and dinosaurs nevertheless. Check out this video

QUOTE
What size brush or pen or something to colour the panel lines? And what paint colour code/recommended brand?

Also how to remove/hide the discoloured areas where the parts were joined to a frame?

Sorry about the terms, I don't know what those are called.

For beginners, I suggest that you start with some simple Bandai Gundam markers to do the panel lines, use the oil based pens, those come out nicely. Black, is ok, grey is better for more realism.

To hide the discoloured areas, buy some sandpaper in various grades, 400, 800, 1000. Start with the roughest grade and sand down the affected part. Then progress to the finest sandpaper and soon the mark will dissapear. You can do a wet sanding technique, this will help your progress.

If you really want to do a good job modelling, you should visit some local malaysian modelling sites, try the Malaysian Scale models tips and hints section go to the link below

Buyus, i had cracked caps on my zoids 2 spider zoid. but this fella must have been in display for a long time already. Ed's advice is pretty sound though. Put some water in your display cabinet if you are using spotlights, cos the heat and dryness will not only cause cracked caps but yellow and soften the plastic of zoids as well.

Nice set of big beasties there QQ21! They are great display models arent they? Only issue is their size and where to put them...They overwhelm the rest of my toys in every cabinet!

HMM IRON KONG is fabulous! Looks like one to get when it comes out. Pricey though.

The Korean modeller definately has a background in military modelling...the weathering and diorama effects are pretty impressive. Nice composition as well.

long time no speak folks.

After a loooonnnnggggg time away from zoids, I am finally back in the game. Thanks to Ed, I got myself an HMM Iron Kong. Was very very hesitant due to the size and cost but quite glad I got it at the end. I have some great diorama ideas in my head already. looking forward to building this bad boy!
