Rafa Benitez and Steven Gerrard were celebrating today after scooping the Barclays Manager and Player of the Month awards for March.

The Reds enjoyed an incredible month with four straight victories and Gerrard was at his sensational best, netting six times in four matches.
In clinching the honour, the Anfield skipper becomes the first player to win the monthly award on five occasions since its inception in 1994.
Meanwhile, it's also the fifth occasion Benitez has been the recipient of the Manager of the Month gong after guiding Liverpool to within a point of league leaders Manchester United and into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
A 2-0 home win over Sunderland was followed by the 4-0 demolition of Real Madrid at Anfield in the second-leg of the Champions League last 16 tie.
An unforgettable 4-1 victory over United at Old Trafford came next, with Liverpool rounding off a fine month by crushing Aston Villa 5-0 at Anfield.
"I'm pleased because it shows we are playing well, scoring goals and getting good results," said manager Rafael Benitez.
"It also shows that behind the scenes the staff are working really hard. We have got ourselves into a good position, but now we have to keep going."
As part of the ongoing review of the structure of the Melwood backroom staff under Rafa Benitez in advance of the 2009-2010 season, following a mutual agreement the Club confirms it will not be renewing the contract of Angel Vales Vazquez as Head of Video Analysis and Reserve Team Coach next year. The Club wishes Angel well for the future.
