Hey, wheres Phil Thompson now ? Did he get removed after Benitez came in?
As one rival fan to another, ive always hated phil thompson! Hahaha. maybe cos his nose was pretty big. But gota respect him. I think that time when Gerard Houllier was in hospital, he managed to do a good job in keeping it together. GH was out for quite sum time wasnt he ? |

QUOTE(gothmy @ Mar 20 2009, 07:30 PM) You'd rather we go into the game expecting to lose, quivering in our shoes? It is imperative that the players go into this one with a positive attitude. It is equally important that us fans are up for it especially since we're playing at Anfield in the first leg. To be really honest, I am confident of beating you lot because on our day, we can beat anyone. Perhaps you'd rather we go, "*** lor, Chelsea again, die lah we all"? |

Guus Hiddink vs Rafa plays an important role in this crucial tie. I think it will be more interesting game to watch.

last night UCL draw put the possibility of a man utd versus liverpool final.
the biggest game in the history of european club football ever to be played rome , the eternal city would go absolutely berserk. already the italians are planning to put 20,000 police for that night and if these 2 giants were to meet in the final plus the roman ultras as extras sideshow , probably 10,000 more police will be needed no other sports in living memory would command attention of such magnitude. simply explodable |

Rafa Keen on La Liga duo
Source 1: According to sources close to the club, Rafa Benitez has been given transfer funds to sign Valencia winger David Silva in the summer. Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has promised Benitez £30million and Rafa is keen on bringing Silva to Merseyside. However, another club has also shown interest in the Spanish winger and have launched a bid of £15m which was rejected. Benitez is ready to spend anything upto £21m for the 23-year old. Another player on Benitez’s wishlist is former-Arsenal striker Thierry Henry. Benitez however, is not willing to pay more than £10m for the French international. Source 2: Reports in Spain today claim that Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is ready to pay at least €16million for David Silva. As revealed by KOPTALK recently (March 7th), Liverpool have already made a a fresh enquiry for the Valencia winger. It is claimed that another club have already offered €16m for Silva and that Liverpool are prepared to match that amount but we expect the asking price will be much higher. Taken from LFC Globe and Kop Talk. Based on LFC Globe record of supplying superbly accurate information in the past, guys, is high possibility that we are going to see this guy in anfield REAL SOON ![]() This post has been edited by solstice818: Mar 21 2009, 03:37 PM |

browsed through today's star newspaper and saw an article with messi stating that he wants to stay at barca for life.
there goes the hope. i'd be keen to watch how RB sets his team out next season if we are indeed getting silva. in general i think RB already has a core formation and perhaps will require some fine-tuning or upgrade in certain positions. bringing in another winger may trigger some slight change in formation and tactics, and i'll be waiting so see how it works out especially on the right flank. hardworking and idustrious kuyt or flair and speed silva? |

Just in case you guys didn't know.Silva can play on the right but he has a weak right foot.90% of his shots and crossing are from right foot.there goes the hope. i'd be keen to watch how RB sets his team out next season if we are indeed getting silva. in general i think RB already has a core formation and perhaps will require some fine-tuning or upgrade in certain positions. bringing in another winger may trigger some slight change in formation and tactics, and i'll be waiting so see how it works out especially on the right flank. hardworking and idustrious kuyt or flair and speed silva? If we do get him, most likely he will be playing on left with babel switching to right winger/striker. If we get Henry, then babel will be playing as right winger. If we dont get him, he will be playing as striker... |

Well, it is not going to be easy for you guys. If really any club need to pay at least €16million for Silva, either Barca or Real should have bought him last summer. I believe his price tag will be much much higher. But the £30million Tom Hicks offered is indeed a huge amount of money for Rafa. Don't forget, Juve are also keen to purchase him, and they are dead serious as well If we do get him, most likely he will be playing on left with babel switching to right winger/striker.
