I just checked; damn.. there are so many new 'Standard' ring tones with this new update but they all don't sound nice. As to the problem you're having with urs, it's not a problem on mine
I guess it's almost all systems go for mine

@akchang,
I been trying to get Internet Tethering to work but to no avail. BT worked though without iTunes installation but USB only worked after I installed iTunes 8.2. @coolg4, I've been disabling my APN (unless for when I used the iPhone to test Internet Tethering] and it works; both on the new 3.0 and the older software. |

@zulazhan,
I think people want it NOT to work in this instance. @deodorant, I was of great help?! hmMM... now that's rarely the case on this forum but glad to be of help anyways. Anyhow, I figured, if cannot get USB to work, who cares cause can still connect via BT and the iPhone can still be charged though the USB cable |

@zulazhan,
Am not sure if it'll tether through wifi. I too am on pay per use hence haven't really quite tested heavily on it. Haven't quite converted to an Unlimited Plan ! *grins* The question I like to ask is.. do calls still come in when we're on Internet Tethering? Does it interrupt the session or calls just don't come through? Anyone with answers for it yet?! |

*Update*
Internet Tethering via USB through Vista works (am posting this through it now). An SMS also came in while i'm tethering so I guess I'm in business !! muAHahahhahahHAHaha And now... a call to Maxis to enable Unlimited Data Package! *YaaY* @coolg4, Yup. Alternatively go to unlock.co.nz through your iPhone's Safari and download a Fake APN. That'll do the trick! This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jun 19 2009, 05:28 PM |

@psjjl,
I suspect you don't have iTunes 8.2 installed on ur Vista machine. Install it, and it should be fine. |

@CooLeRthings,
For Internet Tethering through USB on Vista, just install iTunes 8.2. When you plug in the iPhone through USB cable (and enable Internet Tethering), it will just come on No settings whatever required. *Added* Anyone finds the 3.0 makes sync-ing very much slower than it used to be?! @CooLeRthings,
Yes you're absolutely right. Another friend also commented on the lag. I felt it yesterday when I was doing something but I wasn't sure if it's a good reflection cause I was trying to get my Internet Tethering to work hence I might have utilised too much uhm.. well RAM or whatever *shrugs* I'm totally dissatisfied with the long synching process. Mine's still synching and it's been uhm.... AGES! Did U get Internet Tethering to work yet?! |

@fliz,
If ur APN is set to the CORRECT one it will obviously work and data will continue to stream in. The advice here is to put in fake details for it NOT to work! *SiGh* Need to repeat how many times?! I'm sounding like an old granny liow This post has been edited by tinkerbel: Jun 19 2009, 05:54 PM |

@CooLeRthings,
AhHH... U were asking me earlier so I thought Urs wasn't working either. Anyhow, do be cautioned about the Group SMS becoming Group MMS. It was highlighted by a forummer earlier and it's confirmed to be true. Hence, when u send Group SMS make sure U disable MMS setting otherwise the entire message will be sent off as an MMS instead of an SMS. |

@Masamune,
U must have updated your carrier settings along with the iTunes update. To disable APN, all U need to do is create a fake APN. With that, U won't have to worry about streaming incoming data Go to unlockit.co.nz. on ur iPhone Safari and follow instructions there to create your fake APN profile. When U want the phone to stream data normally, just delete the profile. |

@CRSSR,
I believe you're facing the issue because your SIM is locked. All U need to do is SIM unlock the phone manually and let it search for network. When network's active, it will automatically continue to install 3.0 to your phone. Hope it works! @nokia2003, I like to be able to contribute as and when I can; what to do?! I'm just helpful |
