lol astria, you answer that question nv say about your N81vp? (and you finally came back)
@strawberry, i think you have to go low yat ask whether they'll order for you la, but for astria, he order from amazon USA, use Vpost Singapore to ship, cost around RM4.6K. So you could also use Vpost to ship for you, but will cost more.

@jingwen07 haha ur right, got BenQ S57 and S42 (15.6 vs 14.1") lor if you dun mind bigger abit, the S57 will be better got its like 3.9K freedos, but got bluray, 500GB hdd P8700. but the S42 can handle games as well, cause of its 9600m GT.
But since you can go 15" there's the ASUS N50vm (P8600, 4GB ram, 9650m GT) its RM4k with OEM vista, its just like the S42, only with an oc-ed gc. So if you wanna save money, got for S42, but you want the warrenty, ASUS make you feel safer. Also S42 is lighter
for 3dmark06. S57 - 6.4-ish K S42 - 5.6-ish K

QUOTE(-Nos- @ Jun 7 2009, 10:49 AM) Hi guys, Need some recommendations here. Buying a new lap top for gaming and study purpose(Microsoft Office only). Budget less than 10k. Any brand but BenQ, Dell and Acer. I'm flying to US to study soon, should i get it here or buy it there? I want a high performance and not too heavy lappy. Hahahaha, go for falcon northwest http://www.falcon-nw.com/

@hisayam. No, the studio is better in terms of performance. reason why its the same price, is because of size, as things get smaller or bigger, they get more expensive. So you see, the 15" is around the cheapest for a laptop price. Also the studio has better resolution.
anyways, to break it down... Processor Intel® Centrino® Processor Technology- Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6400 (2GHz)?? What does this mean? (this is the processing speed, higher better, aim for around 2.4GHz is my advice) Operating system Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic* (i rather go for OEM Premium) Memory 2GB Dual-channel DDR2 SDRAM? (that's just RAM, more ram better performance, go for 3GB, is enough.) Monitor 15.6” HD WLED Display with TrueLife™ Hard Drive 250GB* Hard Drive Optical Drive Slot Load DVD Burner* ?? (just a dvd drive, but is slot, means no tray pop out, is insert the disc, like car one. I find it cool so i like.... but i heard that it spoils.... ask dell studio 15 tread) Graphic Card 256MB ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4570 (hm.... i rather go for the 512MB)
I went online and choose, P8600 2.4GHz processor, 512 HD4570, 3GB ram, and now got promo for free upgrade to 320 GB, around 3.6K... (oh yea, i choose backlit keyboard and the faster hdd ie. the 7200rpm one.....)

hm astria, not sure if this correct specs, but roughly like this.. at 4.2-ish K ringgit,
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.26GHz (assuming it'll be the P8400? long batt life lur) 2GB Memory 160GB hard drive1 SD card slot Built-in 7-hour battery2 NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics
@kumataro, long nice long list of unwanted brands.... well there's the dell sxps 1555 fits ur requirements if u can take 15.6" also you can get like a 900p screen and still stay in budget iirc. or go for HP lor, important you like the laptop no?
