cabinet file is WM file, do not unrar them in pc. instead copy both .cab into your WM. then using windows explorer, go to these 2 cab & double click to install them. reset. then go to start>settings>system (tab)> WOW HD

Added on August 1, 2009, 5:19 pmcab file is normally recognized as rar file bcos they have the same icon.
if u hav problem identifying between cab & rar.  just remember those packed with a xml file are usually cab.

Bored? Just started tongue.gif

Haha. Just applied invisible shield. Looked like crap when I 1st put it. Micro bubbles everywhere. But now it ain't too bad. Just afraid that it'll peel off after some time as I think some dust is starting to collect along the edges of the shield. Is it possible to wash the shield and re-use it? Its been like 5 days since I applied it.....

Oh and thinking of plucking out the connector port cover. Annoying when listening to music via headphones rclxub.gif

I'm still here.  laugh.gif
When it's new, it's still very static so will attract alot of dust. Just use a damp cloth and lightly wipe along the edges.
After sometime, when the IS had lost it's stickyness, there won't be so much dust anymore.
Yes. This had been discussed before. Just a few pages back.
And.....don't flush it down the toilet.  laugh.gif
This can be done also and someone here (sorry bro, I forgot who) had done it before. Also a few pages back.
*
ah good to hear. Don't wanna put RM80 to waste just coz of some dust.

Regarding the connector cover, I've read it somewhere that its just on a ball joint which can just be removed by plucking the cover at right angles from the omnia's main body. Thing is...... my previous phone had a problem with dust sweat.gif
Never open the unit before and somehow dust went in through the gaps of the phone and went I went to get it serviced, the main board was like the sahara desert. Fine dust covering almost 60% of the board.
Just afraid that more dust will get in since the cover is meant to protect the connector port.

Juz bought an Omnia 8gb gold yesterday... very ecited..

anyway, quick question, when i play media player and when the fon lock the screen, the track stop playing. How to overcome that?

tq....  smile.gif
*
Not sure about touch player but im using other 3rd party music apps and they all have the option to turn off screen but not lock the program when phone locks. So music still continues when locked. But for some reason I can only wake my phone up by pressing the power button...... Already set it to wake up when any hardware key is pressed but only responds to the power button rclxub.gif

Heard that updating to non-authentic Samsung ROM will void FMG warranty. So be careful whistling.gif

To align screen go to the system tab under settings and look for "screen". There's an option for screen alignment.

QUOTE(DrWho @ Aug 14 2009, 10:03 PM)
Doing the followings greatly improved my Omnia screen sensitivity and fluidity. biggrin.gif

Use your favourite registry editor, go to [HKLM/Hardware/Devicemap/Touch]

Modify the value for Calibration Data to 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872
Modify Click from 1280 to 2000 (decimal)
Modify DownUp from 256 to 750 (decimal)

Save the changes and soft reset the phone for the new setting to take effect!

P.S. The original data are derived from screen calibration when you touch the 5 points. So basically you dun really need to backup the original data this time, as you could always recalibrate the screen if you dun like the new setting.

*
I gave it a try and I have to say that there is some improvement! Not remarkable but yes there's definitely improvement. Better response from finger presses and higher sensitivity along the edges of the screen now.

Hope this wont wear off or I would need to set it back again. Before this I notice that sometimes my devices screen sensitivity decreases after awhile so I constantly need to re-align the screen which is a bit of a hassle sweat.gif

Anybody encountered this issue where the one patch of the screen is like brighter? Mine is on the middle left of the screen, seems like something has gone wrong..

I have that a little. More to the bottom left portion. But only visible on white or black backgrounds. Not really bothering me though.

Pls do update me if you get it repaired. I still have a few months warranty left on mine as well but not sure if i wanna repair it. Already installed invisible shield. Afraid that I might need to remove it to get it repaired sweat.gif

QUOTE(Omnian @ Aug 17 2009, 06:13 PM)

Added on August 17, 2009, 6:35 pmSomething to share with everyone.

I went to Samsung Service Center today, to check out the Omnia II. They quoted me S$898.

While inside the service center, since there are not much people, I asked the Tech whether I can change my Omnia i900 screen.
After checking his PC, he found that my i900's garantee had expired in July, but still asked me what's wrong with my screen.
I told him there's nothing wrong, no scratch, no damage, just heard others said that the new screens are better, so I just ask for fun, since I got nothing to do here. whistling.gif
He took over my i900 and poke the screen a few times, then tell me okay, he'll change it for FREE.  rclxms.gif

So after one hour, I had a new screen and an Omnia II from another shop which sell to me at S$838.  rclxm9.gif

Truely, the new screen is slightly more responsive.  rclxms.gif

Omnian!!! I might just do pop by FMG to check on my screen!!!
Also is a hard reset required when the screen is changed??

Oh man Omnian is one lucky dude. Wanted to get my screen checked coz of the whitish part which is noticeable especially on black backgrounds.

Went to the nearest one to my place which is Mobile City in Alpha Angle Wangsa Maju. Apparently there is no service center there anymore. LOL. The person attending to me told me that the nearest Samsung Service center is in Low Yat plaza.......

There's only 1 mobile city in Alpha Angle Wangsa Maju. Please correct me if im wrong sweat.gif

Will there be a difference if an app, lets say M2D or SPB MS3 gets installed in Device memory or My Storage? i.e speed or stability wise?

So tempted to switch to a custom ROM..... can't stand the amount of memory left in device memory on the standard Samsung ROM. Only 6MB left sweat.gif

Dont wanna invalidate my FMG warranty if anything happens rolleyes.gif

I'm sorry bro. notworthy.gif  Didn't meant to be an ass. doh.gif

I went there to check-out the Omnia II and just happened that there was no queue and those Customer Service Officers are so pretty drool.gif , so I press a number for the fun of it.
To my suprise, she's willing to give it to me FOC, so why not.  laugh.gif

I can never get SPB MS3 to install in My Storage. sad.gif
Don't know why. blink.gif
*
Seems that i'll need to drop by the service center at Lowyat plaza.... sweat.gif but i doubt there'd be any hot lookin attendants whistling.gif

When I installed SPB MS3 the 1st time I installed it in my device memory but it took up a lot of memory. So I decided to try out M2D. It was cool interface wise but it took out even more memory! LOL. So i reverted back to MS3 but I tried the option to install it in the 8GB my storage but it still installed in my device memory rclxub.gif

Oh and I thought of getting a mirror screen protector. Think it might look great to complement the chrome tongue.gif I feel that the Invisible shield is a little to adhesive surface wise. Makes navigation using fingernails or a stylus rather well but not to good for finger tips. Just my 2 cents

Just wondering. To those who got the new digitizer installed, does it make it any easier to type on the omnia? I find it a chore to type with the onscreen keyboard. Used fingerkeyboard and it was ok compared to the stock one. Now im using Touchpal which makes things a little better with the T9 dictionary and swipe-to-change keyboard layout biggrin.gif

Hmm.. for some reason im not really liking the stock keyboard tongue.gif Was thinking if anyone here compared the HTC touch pro's hardware keyboard with the omnia's onscreen keyboard? The hardware keyboard on the touch pro seems a little cramped up

guys

how much does a 1-month old samsung omnia i900 (FMG set) worth?

my friend bought it for Rm1,800. he decided to sell because he prefer non-touch screen phone.

can anyone please advise the fair resell price?  notworthy.gif
*
Is it the 8gb or 16 gb version? At the moment the price of 2nd hand omnia's are dropping real fast. Around RM1300 or less. Some are even available for RM9XX sweat.gif But since its from ur friend guess you could let him/her untung abit since its only a 1 month old set

Just went to get my Omnia bumped up at the Samsung Service center along the Federal Highway. One word about their service: A1!!!

Went there got my ticket, waited for my number to be called. When it was my turn I was greeted pleasantly by the lady attending to me at the counter. Immediately she checked for the warranty details on the device as the norm and immediately she asked for my problem. My problem is that there is a whitish streak along the bottom of the screen. Only highly visible on black or dark backgrounds. So the technician recommended an LCD replacement. Threw in a replacement for my digitizer too coz it wasn't too responsive along the sides (just my opinion to him tongue.gif ).

The attendant informed me that since Raya is around the corner my phone might only be fixed earliest this weekend or latest by next Wed. So I was like.... dang..... if its till Wed it will be like 4+ days without a phone sweat.gif so i left the place and went off for lunch. An hour since I left the place I received a message saying that my phone was ready for pickup. LOL

Went to pickup my Omnia straight after lunch. Took almost a 40 minute drive coz of the jam rclxub.gif

Anyways, my omnia now is lookin hot with its new LCD and more responsive with its new digitizer. Props to the ppl out at Samsung thumbup.gif

Oh and Omnian. Do you recommend Shokka's V20 or V21 ROM to start with? icon_rolleyes.gif
