may i ask all the regulars here to embrace themselves and not to entertain unnecessary requests for help unless they are carried properly.
dudes..i have this No Service problem..and can't seem to find any solution for it. I guess this fits into your "carried properly" category but my previous posts got no replies

iPhone Generation : 1st gen
Current Firmware : 2.1
iTunes Version : 8.0.1
Computer Platform : Vista
Jailbreaking software : QuickPWN
Problem Encountered : No Service
Steps Had Taken (list down) : It's my friend's iPhone which he bought from U.S. The Problem of No Service of this 1st Gen iPhone first started after the iPhone fall from the chair while it was in his pocket. At that time the Firmware was 1.02. After that fall, the iPhone had very bad reception of signal (only 1 bar), then after a few days it only says No Service. I thought by updating the firmware to 2.1 (Update button in iTunes) would help but after updating to 2.1 (then Unlock & Jailbreak using iClarified method), the No Service is still there. I have tried 2 sim cards and I still get the same problem. For now, I guess its not the sim card as when I insert that same sim card to another phone, the signal strengh is full and I can make and receive calls. I can only assume that probably it's hardware related but thinking it was just a small fall, it shouldn't of have damage the iPhone.
Steps taken:
1. Turn on the airplane mode and turn it back off after a few seconds - result: I still get No Service
2. Restart iPhone - result: Maxis signal about 1/2 bar then after a few seconds, I get No Service.
And it has been on firmware 1.0.2 ever since the iPhone was bought from U.S and only had the No Service problem a few weeks back.
So, I thought maybe upgrading the firmware to the latest 2.1 would resolve the problem since it's running on an old firmware version.
The No Service problem happened while the iPhone firmware was 1.0.2. I upgrade the firmware from iTunes to 2.1 and I have already tried unlocking/jailbreak/activate it twice. Both times it was successful. After re-boot the iPhone, will have about 1/2 signal bar then ..No Service...
