few observations...

- Brock's striking defence sucks
- Carwin's ground game sucks
- Refree Rosenthal should have stopped the fight in round1 due to brock not defending intelligently to gnp.
- Refree Rosenthal is retarded, he basically let brock lean on carwin for an entire minute end of round1. He should separate them and then maybe carwin could have gotten a TKO.
- Bad idea on carwin's part, when you can't end the fight with ground & pound, you should go for submissions (hey, even brock learned to submit... so props to him).

For the bold part, i completely agreed.

For the referee didn't stopped the fight in the 1st round, i think the referee gave Lesnar a chance to see if he can come back.
Most referee did that in the main event fight.

QUOTE(compgopack @ Jul 4 2010, 07:28 PM)
Was watching this match LIVE and waiting from 10am onwards.

There is so much different on Brock after he got sick from last time.

-Brock is damn slow & not responsive like last time.
-He is much more fat now instead of pure muscles like last time vs Mir.
-Last time in all of his matches, he never duck/look for cover when opponent punch him but now he duck and move backward....really changed.

And when he fell down after hitting by Carwin, I was farking nervous and screaming fark!!!! Brock is death.!!!! But somehow he survived the slaughter WTF!!! This tested Brock can take loads of punches. When I watched the replay, from the moment he fall down, Carwin punch him over 100 times WTF!!! But he survived. (Gonzaga & Mir has glass chin lol)

The game will changed if Brock first take down attempt on round one succeeded. But Carwin managed to divert the forced to the side. Second takedown in Round 2 is easier as Carwin used up all power in round one. He just simply fall down by himself and didn't bother to get out from the take down & no half-guard at all lol.....

Brock shouldn't choke him. He should GNP him like what he used to do. Choke is benefiting him. Although Brock win but he is damn hurt lol....hope got rematch with him. And btw this Cain Velaskues is another stand-up guy.....but less power than Carwin...Brock should bulk up to the form like he used to be.

u really watched Cain Velasquez fight b4?
he is famous for his outstanding wrestling... not his stand-up...

nvm lah, brock win is also another plus to MMA, more ppl will watch MMA because of him.

The kind of fighter that can stop brock MUST have decent or good striking and MUST be able to submit people on their backs.... cos it will be very hard to stop Brock's takedowns. Fabricio Werdum immediately comes to mind... big nog(with a chin), frank mir(with bjj, not boxing like brock vs mir 2) and of course, Fedor Emelianenko.

Duh, Cain is a striker... all his fights end with KO.
I think Brock is the better wrestler too compared to Cain, Brock can definitely take Cain down.

Brock can definitely take anyone down.
All the people in my list are famous for their guard and have submitted people before while on their back.

Strategic wise for Brock, Cain is no different from Shane Carwin.

Brock is still the better wrestler.
You need a serious jiujitsu guy who can survive on the ground + can fight on the feet also.

- Frank Mir
- Big Nog
- Fabricio Werdum
- Fedor Emelianenko

Current big nog has no chin lah.
If Brock vs Cain Velasquez... even i (a brock hater) will support brock.

hate to admit it, if shane can't beat brock, i don't think anyone else in the UFC can. But outside UFC definitely a lot. Imagine Brock take down werdum... brock definitely GG in that fight.

in UFC, brock is practically King.
