just wondering guys,
which would you go for, a tv or a moniter to pair with a console ? I'm planning to get a console soon, and don't have a tv in my house  most tv designs don't suit my taste, and will probably opt for the Dell 30" . is it a wise choice ? |

wow......ur setup is so much musician feels
 especially that real guitar there, really caught my attention now then, my setup update: My PS3 with HDMI input    My PS2 with component input, really satisfied with the result looks almost HD with this input    My PC with HDMI input this is the most disturbing part, my HDMI wires is too exposed as can see from the pic if only I got myself a longer HDMI cable (i will very soon)   also, my rear speaker is placed in front bcoz i dun have the rear speaker stand will find it soon enough and my center speaker is busted, might need repair |

he mentioned current 32 lcd tv's design doent suit his taste...
since his location is in UK....i'm sure Pioneer 32" LCD tv is available there  pawnage lcdnot really recommend dell 3008 if u're mainly for console...its 16:10, no black bars but image it'll b stretch a little bit, it also require u to spend quite some time to tweak d color to bring up better black levels fyi, some drawbacks, no remote control? highly priced coz its 2560x1600 high % of backlight bleed(% lower for rev. a02) |

guys, got a prob here.. I need to connect my pc and xbox360 to a monitor using VGA connection.. and the monitor only have one VGA port.. do I need to use a VGA cable splitter?
If so, then if both console and pc is turned on, which display will the monitor shows? |

The splitter (switcher) will have the option for you to choose which source to be output to the monitor.

guys.. i'm just wondering, though...
most of you guys put the xbox 360 in the rack or the cabinet under the TV... doesn't this actually hinders the airflow around the console? I notice that the console is much more hotter in my tv rack/cabinet rather than i put it on the floor. Somehow the floor makes the console feel much more cooler than it is in the cabinet.. |

That's true,but it would help a lot more if the Xbox was not next to any other machine,and is on a different shelf that it keeps all to itself.
I would put mine next to the TV for better ventilation,but it's just so untidy. |

I even worse, improvising with a kiddie table because cannot be assed to buy a better table for the setup (the table, I had since kindergarten ). Also, that table put the TV as the same height as my bed, so watching Astro is also quite comfortable. S-Video actually looks very good on CRTs, seeing as most CRTs only have composite or S-Video.

just purchase a new 42" panasonic full hd plasma tv... before this playing using 21 & 29 inch crt tv only... (planning to get 24 inch monitor, but what the heck...) enjoy... The TV seems overly bright in every shot, at any angle.
Also, the whole screen looks very bright. It's an LCD, flash shouldn't reflect so much. |

no.. its because of my camera. because of very low light around, the camera made it bright a little bit automatically. me also cannot watch the tv if the contrast/bright like that (pic). huhuhuhuh. the real contrast/bright is not like the pic..

My phone also always do that. However, it is known that unless you have calibrated your TV (when you first buy it), the brightness levels will need to be dropped a little bit. |

anybody could help me on my setup? before this i was playing my PS3 on my LCD TV..
then now i bought Acer Monitor X203H for PS3 in my room..i also used the HDMI to DVI converter.. the problem is: 1. it says it doesnt support the input..i cant view the PS3 menu..but i can play games when it loads.. 2. when i hook up my speakers to the Audio Out of the LCD Monitor it doesnt have any sound at all..even if i dont hook up my speakers, it also doesnt have sounds..the LCD has built in speakers btw.. any help would be much appreciated.. |
