Afterlife's Chris Redfield Needed A Resident Evil Montage

user posted image
QUOTE
The actor behind Resident Evil: Afterlife's Chris Redfield isn't a gamer, so how did Prison Break's Wentworth Miller prepare to play this iconic character? With a montage - a Chris Redfield montage.

MoviesOnline.ca caught up with Wentworth during the San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, where the actor admitted he's never been much of a gamer due to his family's emphasis on education. So how does a non-gamer prepare to play a gaming icon?

I had to do my homework. I was aware of the series and I remember specifically the trailer for the third movie with that shot over Vegas, and it's buried in the sand, it was very iconic and arresting. I asked the producers to put together a montage of significant sequences from the video game that explained or spoke to my character's history or mythology. That was part of my research.

Wentworth's Redfield isn't pulled directly from the game. The actor says his Chris Redfield is a balance of the video game Redfield, movie writer and director Paul W.S. Anderson's vision of Redfield, and Miller's own strengths as an actor.

I like the idea of a gaming outsider playing the role. The more familiar an actor or actress is with a video game character, the more likely they'll be playing a video game character instead of giving that character a life of their own.

But my reactions to Miller's casting don't matter to the actor. Neither do yours, or any other online fan reactions.

I didn't read those reactions. I felt like I already knew what they were going to be. I imagine that the reception is going to be across the board, it's only natural, and people become attached to a certain story or a certain character. They invest deeply, so they care when they finally see that character up on screen. They're going to have opinions, and that's to be expected.

We'll see if Miller's methods pay off when Resident Evil: Afterlife hits theaters on September 10.

Finally, a RE5 based thread for PC users.
I hope I'm not too late to enquire/reply.
Is anyone still playing RE5 on PC by the way ?
I've been thinking if I should get the genuine version of RE5.
I went and enquired in 1-U, and it looks like they're selling the original version for RM150.
No gold edition though..

Does lowyat still have the gold edition for it ?
Either way, if I buy the normal edition, will I still get the DLCs meant for Gold Edition too ? Or I have to buy the Gold Edition to get them instead ?
Can someone give me their opinions ? Is the Gold Edition worth getting ?
Or I'm better off with the normal edition ?

I got have no credit card nor debit card tongue.gif
Unless your trying to offer me your service that is .. tongue.gif

Steam ...
Hmm.. I hate their updates.
Takes a long time..
For one L4D DLC, I have to wait for 1 day to get it complete.
Unless I restart my pc and re-update it again.
The time it needs for the update won't decrease.

Is the DLC for RE5 worth getting ?
Actually.. is the whole game even worth getting sleep.gif ?
Cause what really attracts me is just the co-op.
If no one in Malaysia is playing, I don't think I wanna get it either.

Steam depends on connection.

I get like 4 updates / patches per week for my games.

Usually it's really fast.

Most people are done with this game.

Hm.. maybe my connection's bad then.
I still remember how I woke up at 3 am in the morning just to wait for the Steam to start updating the patch so I can play The Sacrifice earlier.

It pratically felt like your queuing along with thousands of people just to get some superstar's concert ticket.

Either way, which game are you refering that people are through with ?
RE5 ?
Doesn't anybody play it right now ?
Deimos said PC version doesn't get the DLC.
But I wonder if Steam provides it.. hmm...

If download immediate upon release usually have some issues.

PC version no DLC for Resident Evil 5.

No, Steam does not offer DLC for Resident Evil 5.

Capcom been using GFWL, if there is any DLCs, it would be on GFWL instead.

So does GFWL provide the DLC ?
Either way, are you playing ?
Like I said, I'm just interested in the DLC.
If this game is considered old among the lowyat users, I better not get it.
Or you got other good co-op games that a 666 graphic card can play ?
Can recommend tongue.gif ?

Ah okay I get it then.
Forget that I ever mention about the 666 graphic card.
I think I just translated it from chinese because some guy said 666 graphic card to me \(~.~)/ when I was buying pc games.
Actually.. prototype seems superb.
Despite it not being a co-op.
But's its a series game sleep.gif.
Should I get it ? Would you recommend it ?

I suggest you wait for end of the year sale on Steam.

It was about USD20+ after discount previously.

Found out buying from Amazon is cheaper than buying from Steam itself with both also digitally download after payment on the spot.

Added on March 25, 2011, 1:22 pmNew Resident Evil Game Revealed

The next installment of the long-running series is on its way. Squad-based shooter, anyone?

The new May issue of Official Xbox Magazine has revealed the first details on Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Developed by Slant Six, the team once responsible for SOCOM, the new game appears to be a significant departure for the franchise from its survival/horror roots. Instead, players adopt the roles of a team of Umbrella operatives seeking to cover up evidence of the virus outbreak in 1998.

The info comes via a second hand source at stickskills. We've contacted Capcom directly to confirm the game's existence.

For assets and additional info, check out the May issue of OXM.

Yes, the gamecube one look better during that time.

Nonetheless, RE4 was a lot of fun. Action plus some RPG elements.

I have recently played RE5 on PS3, it was horibble experience due to the aiming is so fricking hard, does it also this hard for other shooting games?

is it easier to aim on pc due to mouse interaction? should i sell my PS3 due to the horrible terrible hellific aiming?
