QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 19 2009, 12:31 PM) chiggy, the Sharpness setting affects the NR grain size, so yes +3 is good. I think the cable that connects to the remote only applies to the Sony A100 3rd-party grips; the VG-B30AM clone should communicate via the battery pins itself. - got cable connect to the remote - only 1 button - only the shutter release button however, there are some feature that umm.... looks nice, eventhough I may not use it - there is another shutter release button, located at the bottom - for left hand users, so that left handed can now hold the camera and click (I'm right handed, so this feature is useless for me - it comes with AA battery holder when you can plug it in to grip. Kinda if both batteries went dead, can go 7-eleven to buy normal AA batteries. Not tested though - according to the seller, unlike other grips that cannot switch battery when one is empty, this one can. Also not tested as both my batteries are almost full Brand: ownuser but then again, do we really need other buttons beside the shutter release button? |

QUOTE(albnok @ Mar 19 2009, 01:54 PM) chiggy, you meant this? How much was it? yes, that is the one, the ownuser... but I don't remember the remote though - hahaha... later check the box back. The seller is help me plug into it and teach me how to use it as well show the use of the AA battery holder.http://cgi.ebay.com.my/Ownuser-Battery-Gri...emZ250356921865 Interesting. I never quite liked the Ownuser grip for the A100; the Dicain one was better in the sense that it had the shutter button in the same place as the original vertical grips. The Travor/Yong Nuo/Octopus grip is a clone of the Sony but doesn't allow automatic switchover: http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-Grip-for-SONY-...071910012r10333 Personally, I would want all those other buttons especially the dials. Having the front dial, EV and AEL are great or else you'll have to pull a stunt with your left hand. RM230 I don't use EV at all actually.. well, that was during my m42 days where everything is manual. Same goes to AEL - only use during landscape panoramic shooting to get the same exposure on the shots - but that is of course my personally, a700/900 may have a difference perspective |

what lens or flash depends on you
are your the type that say "main thing got picture properly exposed and focused" or the type "in my photos, each and every pixel must be sharp sharp and nice" |

how about this?
(I will assume that this goes under hobbyist not professional you take a photo - purpose? Share with family and friends? How? Through web or printout? Web - when you show, usually you will be showing at 1024px or 800px. This are the common ones. When you resize, photo will become soft. So normally we apply some sharpness. A full resolution from a kitlens may not be sharp as a G lens. However, after resizing and some sharpness applied (we use USM, unsharp mask), the result will be sharp sharp. Printout to share - How big you want to print? 4R? 8R? BILLBOARD SIZE? Last time I use my panasonic fz3 at 3.2mp, can print 8R. Looks ok, but of course if see close sure can see the pixel breaks. 4R at 3mp already looks good. So, don't really need such long zoom lens. Just crop them However, do becareful when printing in photos with high ISO, you can see noise. So how to compensate for not using high ISO - use FLASH |

QUOTE(AlphaBeta @ Mar 20 2009, 08:22 PM) why i use sandisk ultra III 30mbps to transfer my 2gb pics from my hard disk to it needs 9 minutes? by calculation..it speed only 4mbps...why like this 1? some processes in your computer may affect the transferexample like, antivirus will scan each file when copying to your hard disk, that already few milliseconds multiply by hundreds of photos... sometimes when I transfering files via usb and then open applications... it will also slow down the transfer |

QUOTE(areankim @ Mar 21 2009, 06:38 PM) any here taken macro with sigma 28-300? hehe i'm dslr newbie.. wanan try macro but... failed.... sob sob failed? meaning?remember that there is a minimum focusing distance (500mm) that comes with the lens, even if you macro. Just as long you are in the MFD, you should be able to macro. However, don't expect full macro, you get like 1:3 ratio only, so it is actually kinda closeup if auto focus don't really work in your way, try manual focus, or just set at infinity and move in and out of the object |

QUOTE(nabelon @ Mar 21 2009, 07:24 PM) must set to MF on your camera, then you can move the focusing ring to infinityif your lens has AF/MF switch, you may need to switch it too... unless certain less, for example HSM lens does not require you to move the AF/MF switch on the lens to manual focus |
