DCIM price can be cheaper, however the price is cheap compare to their RPP price, but not to the street price.

For example, Sony sells HVL-F42AM at RM999 (RPP). Sony may sell it lower at RM899 but never at street price that can get at RM750. I think if Sony sells lower, other vendor that sells sony will sure make noise

chiggy: For #2 the shadow can be eliminated with a slower shutter speed.
5 secs pose... no time to change settings in aperture priority or view result in LCD, but I keep that in mind biggrin.gif

for almost 1 year... my shutter count 10k
so 9 more years to 100k
doubt the camera can last that long
maybe by 2-3 years, 20mega pixel camera will be a norm and it is time to change again biggrin.gif

it is called slave flash
the slave flash will trigger when it detect light from your main flash, pop-up flash works too to trigger

i've one, but did not really played with it, kinda wasted RM250 for it biggrin.gif

oo .. so, what is the different between master and slave flash? can F58 acts as master flash? or just same as 3rd party flash's role (slave)? .. smile.gif ..
*
i don't have F58, so I can't answer that
slave flash will trigger with any camera or any flash. Even a PnS camera can trigger a slave flash. Even your handphone with flash (if powerful enough) can trigger a slave flash

what is there to miss on my f42, to me all I need is a flash to shoot events. Don't need any mumbo jumbo biggrin.gif
just as long can flash, can manual settings when needed (especially when using manual lens), can rotate twist and turn... enough already tongue.gif

most of your non-flash macro is blur
I assume you use a tripod or some stabilizer like chair, table, dustbin etc.... please do turn off the SSS

Read the manual, it is stated there

here is my non savvy explanation that I know. You can google for more biggrin.gif
when SSS is on, it can compensate some to your shaky hand. You shake a bit left, SSS compensate right.
when on the tripod, there will be no shake shake.... but SSS will still compensate some. So, a stabilized shot on a tripod can be blur due to SSS on while on tripod

Here are some google results biggrin.gif

hi all .. 'morning' ..

how to use exposure lock aka AEL button? I read the manual but still do not get it .. sad.gif .. any1 can explain? ..
*
when you press the shutter release button, I think by now you know the focus will lock. At the same time, the exposure - shutter speed and/or aperture (depending on which mode you on) will also lock. When you full press, the picture is taken with what you focused with the exposure selected. HOWEVER, if you were to recompose before fully press, the shutter speed and/or aperture will change according to the object exposure.

For example, you want to take a building with a sky background in the afternoon. When you focus the building and half press the shutter release, you may get F4, 1/200s. Then you recompose, where the focus point now is the sky - you may get F4, 1/500s. If you were to fully press, the building will become dark. So before you recompose, press and hold the AEL button, both shutter speed and/or aperture will remain no matter where you are recomposing now

that is the AEL button.

if you don't prefer HOLD, you can toggle it so that when you press 1 time, AEL will ON. Press again, AEL will off
