Hahaha ... changed your mind winner ? I thought you earlier said that Alliance is better.
I had around the same thought when I wrote coz I figure enjoy the benefit while you can and then keep the card in the freezer.  If all their customers did this than perhaps SCB would need to change their mind again.

Anyway ... these are some extra info that my RM provided about this card

- Need to maintain minimum balance of RM1K in the current acc. You will be subjected to a half yearly fee of RM50 if the balance falls below RM1K.
- Actually the card will use your account balance first and then if no money, it will use the credit facility.

Conflicting info from the CS contrary to most forummer reported ... YES! In fact, I called CS and they told me the same thing as well. Nevertheless the rebate is attractive enough - use it and then freeze the card!
@hye, I've applied for the card, will update once i get it
1) I don't mind maintaining the 1k balance but I'll go into argument with them since I've specifically ask about the minimum balance through phone. Don't mind seeing them in court oso cool2.gif
2) if the card will use the balance 1st, i'll cancel the current account

The CS and Price Solution people told me the exact different information as compared to my RM.
So rather then we argue about it, I'll be trying out this product myself soon. At least we will be able to get the correct picture regarding this product. I didn't like the idea about the RM1K as well but look at it this way .... either way you will still need to pay your card account anyway. Take the RM1k as a prepay amount and you gotta admit the rebate is good. (Especially if you use it every friday)
*
that's true oso, can use the $ to pay the balance
but for me it doesn't matter as i oledi openned the e$aver end of march when i received their cc

we'll just wait for the first forumer with justone cc to confirm everything thumbup.gif

which credit card is suitable for me ? im looking for free cc without any annual fee charges .

Im interested in maybank CC since i receive my salary with maybank , however i don't think with my current salary they will approve it.
thanks a lot guys.
*
if u are not against petronas, maybank petronas suites your criteria

Called up RHB yesterday to cancel 2 of my cards with them and was told that I have to surrender the cards to an RHB bank personally or fax them a letter of request.  So troublesome.  Is this normal?  Other banks like MBF allows me to cancel over the phone.

Now going to print out the letter on the first page and fax to them.
*
MBB even worse, they need the fax of the "cutted" cc as well sweat.gif

I am getting different information. The CS told that the min 1k balance only applicable for normal current account not justone account. With justone account there is no such minimum balance needed.

regaring to use debit & credit card, he say we have to inform cashier. Normally, there is option to choose at the terminal.
*
yes, and for debit transactions, you'll need to key in your pin
so as long as you sign, it should be credit

that's based on my experience in US

I really feel insecure with credit card..what happen if the cashier/waiter jot down the credit card no and the 3 pin no on the reverse side of the card. They can use the info on internet transaction.

Can anybody expert here enlighten me here on this.
*
Most cc (except scb) comes with extra security features for online transaction such as MasterCard SecureCode and Verified by Visa. Although not all websites support those features yawn.gif

Well ... finally the official T&C is out from the bank. Probably they received a lot of feedback concerning the lack of information concerning this product. OK ... let me try to add on based on what I know as well.

- Fee for current acct maintenance is not there but you definately need to keep some inflows and outflows in your account within a 12 month span. Otherwise they will deemed as dormant ... whether this will affect the status of the JustOne is still unclear.
- Cheque book are mandatory items although you don't put in any money. The RM2.75 will be charged to your cc account instead.
- If you have money in your account, spendings will be deducted from here and then the card will function as a credit card.

If you ask me, just put in some money before the 12 months is up. At least you will avoid your account to be dormant. I suspect the card is actually a credit card with debit card like facilities.

I'll be signing up soon for this card and let you guys know of the feedback later. Unless someone beat me to it.
*
RM3.75 to be exact, it will be charge for the 1st time only
if it will use the balance in current account 1st, then i'll always keep the balance at zero biggrin.gif but will transfer $ into it and pay the cc thru it
must make sure how to perform credit transaction, else no cash rebate
i think the card can survive without the current account coz this product cannot be seen in the current account category, only in the cc category

My application is still pending, will update soon

Yeah, i meet the requirement. just that i dunno if i have to open a current a/c as this seems like a debit/credit card with cheque.
*
the current a/c will be open automatically upon card approval
they will call you to confirm that they can use your signature on the cc application to open the current a/c

i just received the call yesterday, now waiting for approval

Why don't you pay your utility bills (except water) by direct debit from your cc? It will not only ensure timely payments, but also give you some rebates (such as telecommunication).

and also skip TNB, as they always misread sweat.gif

Oh...I've just submitted my application without studying the T&C about the AF waiver. Can someone please confirm whether the AF waiver is based on yearly or daily spending?

Referring to one of my previous postings, is Shell included in the participating merchants for cash rebate? I thought the rebate is applicable to all retail purchases?
You are so kind! smile.gif I'll cancel whatever pre-approved cards that I never apply for.
You can just accept it if it is the cc that most fulfills your requirements. Even though it is free for life, you may need to think twice if it does not really fit your needs, in order to reduce your financial risk.
*
I've just received the JustOne cc, annual fee is based on minimum annual spending of 15k.
As for retail purchases, it mentioned got rebates for all retail purchases but for petrol it only mentioned about Petronas + Esso & Mobil doh.gif
that means petrol is not retail purchases? rclxub.gif

As for the debit and credit features, it's clear. The card has two numbers, one for credit - printed at the front of the card and one for debit - printed at the back of the card (debit will need to key in the PIN during transactions)

I also noticed the interest rate printed in the brochure for JustOne current account just dropped by 0.38% compared to the one provided on the website shakehead.gif

Retailers in M'sia and less advanced countries in overseas are inexperienced handling cards with both debit and credit functions. It may frequently lead to failed transactions. But it is quite an experiment for retailers, towards a more convenient shopping system for consumers in the future.
RM200k home loan is not a big sum. Did your existing cc contain huge outstanding balance or BT yet to be settled when you applied for a new cc? Anyway, you can just neglect the bank in the future as they don't appreciate you as a customer. Their agents may contact you one day to promote their new products as they have already got your details.
Were the words - Debit and Credit shown on the screen when you did the transaction? In this case, I won't deposit any money into the current acc as I may press wrongly resulting in debit instead!
*
nope, din see credit or debit, just two Mastercard
no need to worry, if you have selected debit, it will prompt for PIN, just make sure you press cancel and don't key in

It should be no problem if you witness the transaction and tell the retailer to select cc function. However, some problems will occur if you dine at restaurant and use this card for payment. The retailer may think the transaction fails if he/she doesn't know how to operate it.

Don’t worry. Getting SCB Titanium doesn’t mean I can fully enjoy the 2% cash rebate. I’m sure there are some stringent T&Cs attached to it. In addition, I have no experience with SCB before. It’s still premature to conclude the level of their service. Btw, I look forward to receiving the cc next week.  tongue.gif

so far I've confirmed 2% for petronas (non Friday)
and 5% for myeg online (friday)

will pump at shell to find out whether has rebate

all my online transaction will be on Friday now biggrin.gif

I don't depend on them but they're nice little bonuses.  My insurance premiums are already RM300+ each month, then there's Digi, Streamyx, electricity, water, petrol, dinners, groceries... yeah they go into thousands.  Even if they don't, like someone else said, some money saved is some money saved smile.gif

hello alexwsk, what's the T&C for getting the 2% rebates and 5% rebates on Friday?
*
no t&c, it's 5% on friday and 2% on other days up to max of RM600/year
although for petrol currently available at Petronas, Esso & Mobil

will try to pump Shell today to find out

Good. So you are having spending spree today? smile.gif

Did you renew your car insurance and road tax using Myeg online? If your car insurance is only expiring next month, you may renew it after June 30, where you can enjoy a discount of up to 10% without going through an agent.
In principle, all Alliance cards should be given the 0% charge. You may need to call the CS for double confirmation.
*
hehe, not really having a spending spree la, just change all my petrol refilling to Friday

yup, myeg for my wife's car, insurance expired on 10th JUN, so can't wait for July

my own car is due in July, will check out the direct rebate plus 5% (i'm gonna walk in on friday)
