Anyway, for what its worth, most banks will not follow the most recent increase in CL but that which has been in existence for at least a year, thus the minimum requirement for most card issuers is 1 year. Further, there's no fixed rule that each and every financial instituition must give you the same limit etc  tongue.gif
*
Agreed ... I got hit by this with my new Alliance Bank cc. My CL is well under 50% of my highest cc / reference card that I used to apply. I fact I used 2 cc as reference and Alliance Bank still quote me lower. It bothers me for a while but heck realistically I only need RM10K on that card and free entrance to airport lounge was the best feature. I figured, it can't be that bad.

I'll revert to my experience using the Plaza Premium Lounge in KLIA later.

You mean your CL is 20k but alliance bank only give 10k? Premium lounge in KLIA for platinum card only is it? Got RM10k CL punya platinum card ?? My friend said only Citibank plat to Premium Lounge is free and others plat card have to pay fee is that true ?
*
Not sure about Citibank but they did have a bunting right outside the door and said that Citibank Platinum have access to the lounge. BTW ... I never did mention my CL was 20K, read my previous posts and tell me when did I ever mention my CL ?

I just received my SIA AMEX credit card. What bothers me is that at the back of the card it states - 24 hours CS hotline and when I called (at night) ... I got a voice mail that says ... operating hours are between 8.45 am - 5pm.

I suddenly need to rethink about using this card coz I don't like the idea of a limited CS operating hours. When I travel, it is difficult for me as I would normally be in a different time zone.

Anyone here faces the same problem with AMEX credit card CS operating hours ?

hye , call this number 03-20500880.
Amex green and gold card CS only provide office hours call center number behind the card. Plat card is 24 hours, they can check whatever you need also. No worry. The number provided above is platinum charge call center.
*
Thanks Bro Reventon biggrin.gif
I'm just a little shocked that the CS working hours are structured that way. Plus it makes me feel like a second class citizen if I'm not a AMEX plat holder.

i applied AM credit card recently with a supplementary card. I received principal card. but i do not receive the supplementary card. 2 days after, i received pin for both card. what happen??? should i just cancel the card? i have not activate the card yet.
*
Isn't the supplementary card will be sent to the supplementary holder of the card ? And why don't you call the bank and ask what's going on instead of asking the people in forum ? The bank will definately can tell you whether they approved and sent out the supplementary card but I'm sure the folks in the forum can't.

Apologies for the words.

Just got my Alliance Bank Plat cc today. I tell the design isn't going to win any awards. My friends said that it doesn't look like a professional looking plat card, me thinks it looks rather like a cheap piece of plastic.

First impression ...
Tried to use this card to pay my bill and the Mastercard Securecode page triggers. OK good. Unfortunately I got the info wrong a few times and the system block my authentication. Receive advise to call the bank .... now CS advise me to call in tomorrow morning @ 9am to unblock my secure code. I'm not impressed by the lack of round the clock availability to unblock my secure code coz I want to pay my bills tonight but not next morning. CS detected I was not particularly happy and offered to ask someone to call in tomorrow morning. Ok ... that sounds slightly better.

BTW ... for those who has gone to regular airline airport lounge, Premium Plaza Lounge looks very simple. When I went there, they only had some cereal, friend mee (which tasted like not properly cooked), sandwich (tastes a little funny probably was prepared a bit too long ago in the day) and some cakes.

Seats were limited and if you asked me ... OK if it is for free and heaviliy discounted. If you are used to those regular lounge then you will not fancy it too much. Just my 5 cents on the Plaza Premium Lounge.

Thanks bro smile.gif

Useful info because it's not stated on their website.
*
Yes ... SCB won't state this promo in their website. (Most banks won't as well) The good thing about SCB promo is that you will also see the promotional sheet which you have to sign as condition that you agree and understand the offer given to you. So the chances of you getting into trouble with renegade card agents are greatly reduced.

I'm using their card and saying all this from experience.

By the way, just want to ask about the HSBC cc holder here, may i know how is the process after apply the credit card? If the CS called us for verification, means that have more chances to get approved is it?
*
Possibility higher towards approval (I didn't say certain), likely you have passed the internal background checking and this is the last leg as confirmation before they approve to issue you the card.

By the way guys, Standard Chartered Singapore is now issuing the Standard Chartered VISA Infinite to their Priority Banking customers now in Singapore. Any idea Standard Chartered Malaysia will follow suit soon ?
*
SCB Malaysia will issue complimentary VISA Infinite to their Priority Banking Customers with a total of RM300K in deposits with them. Since SCB Malaysia revised the entry level for Priority Banking to RM250K, it is unclear whether the policy has changed as well.

You see in their flyer which they distributed to their Priority Banking Customers of the revised entry level - it did state that they will enjoy VISA Infinite Credit Card. Need to find a SCB Priority Banking customer or SCB RM and ask whether VISA Infinite will be provided as a complimentary card now.

Yeah ... HSBC should learn from SCB that card design does matters. The HSBC Premier card is ugly and so plain looking despite being the best card in their stable. For that I think the Platinum or the Classic HSBC card got a better design.

hi guys,..
i,ve apply for the CIMB CC but after 2 weeks i called them they reject my application. this is my 1st CC actually?

anybody knows what is the problem.BTW my Salary more than 18k per annum.
*
Assuming you applied for the entry level card - minimum qualifier is RM18k p.a. Several problems could have occured

1. Incorrect / incomplete information in form.
2. Bank unable to contact you when they want to do verification.
3. You are blacklisted under CCRIS / CTOS
4. You applied for a higher level card than your salary bracket.

The 3rd one, you need to check with BNM. The 1st 2 perhaps you could tell it yourself. And the 4th one, you shouldn't have attempted it. A special case if you applied more than 3 cards in one go (with multiple banks) ... some banks when they detect this, they will reject your application. (e.g. HSBC)

Public bank will reject you if you hold more than 6 cards. OK ... I think I've written down all the multiple possibilities. Hope I don't have to answer this again if another guy/gal comes along and ask the same question. (Read the thread!)

Oh yes ... I advise you to apply to another bank and see whether same problem occurs. Definately something wrong if another bank rejects you as well. If you are successful with another bank then just say it's your bad luck that you get rejected 1st time. Everyone who reads this thread should understand that 99.99% of the time, banks will never tell you why your cc application get rejected. You just have to try it out with another bank and see whether you still have the same problem or not.

Most of the time ... the problems is as per stated above. Rarely banks rejects your cc application unless there's something wrong with your financial history.

Does anyone know if the flexi-pay plan for DA cards still available?
*
It is called the ipay plan. If I'm not mistaken the programme ended on the 31st December 2008. (Which reminds me I don't have a strong reason to keep this card anymore now that this plan is discontinued)

hi, want to ask those who work in oversea, how u all pay your credit card using e-banking?
coz using e-banking they will send the PAC code to your handphone first?
but if i went oversea, can my handphone still received the PAC code? or i need to change the country code for my hand phone number in the bank record in order to receive PAC code in oversea?
*
You will still receive the TAC / PAC code as per normal while you are overseas. So long you are using your Malaysian mobile, have roaming facility and using the same number that you registered with the bank, you will receive those codes. No problems.

I suggest you to add your cc account as your favorite account in yr e-banking system. That way you will avoid the hassle of entering the TAC / PAC all the time.

Is this  the reason why most banks are suggesting rejected CC applicant's to wait for 6 months before considering to apply again?
*
Some banks practice this and some don't. Some banks you could apply as early as 2 weeks after you have been rejected. It depends.

Same here ... no problem. I could safely say that I have used Citibank Online, CIMBClicks, SCB Online, HSBC Online and M2U while overseas and no problem.

But, if I not wrong telcos charge us for receiving SMS while overseas.
*
If I'm not mistaken you don't get charged for receiving SMS overseas. I can't remember seeing the charge on my bill. Like that the moment you switch on your mobile overseas you will be billed for at least 2 SMSes - first one to welcome you into the country and the other the local embassy information.

I'm more sensitive to the CallerID while roaming. Will only answer important calls from known callers. The moment you answer the phone, you will be charged.

Guys ... can anyone help to complete the International Transactions surchages imposed by the respective cc ?

We still don't have info for

1. AMBank
2. AffinBank
3. RHB
4. Alliance Bank

You can check the info in your T&C booklet or look out for this info at the back of your monthly cc statement.

Thank you

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a credit card that gives hotel accommodation or travel point rewards, preferably both. My minimum annual income is 18k, I don't mind whatever fees, I just want hotel accommodation & travel point rewards. Is there any recommendation? Thanks a lot.
*
Sorry, never heard of such credit card which give out travel point rewards. Generally all credit cards will have occasional hotel or travel package promotions, so you need to be on the lookout for it.

Thanks Bro ... my Alliance cc T&C did not mention of any additional charges for overseas transactions. Will be looking out for my statement and confirm this later.

Anyone else who would like to confirm the info above ?

The best thing about this card is no annual fee what so ever.
