I just saw about this card on The Star yesterday. Is it 10% discount available for all GSC ticket? Or just normal ticket?
*
It's up to 10%. Tics below RM10 get less than 10%.

promo from AM bank. see link below:
http://www.ambg.com.my/promotions/personal...ck/cashback.asp

Enjoy cash rebates of up to 10% on petrol and groceries at all petrol stations and major hypermarkets. Cash rebates offer starts from 1 May 2009 until 31 August 2009.
P/S: let me know if this post is redundant. if so, i'll remove it. smile.gif

Pretty neat, but perused through the t&c, so for those of u who are too lazy to read it :-

- You actually continue to earn points as usual on top of the rebate
- 10% wednesday, every other day 5%
- Limited to RM50 per month
- Further limited to a max pool of RM100,000. i.e Ambank as a whole will only payout RM100,000 rebates per month.

So if too many ppl sign up for this, well, you just get less =p

It's ok if not too many ppl are rushing for this though. Not too sure what's the figure like on total AmBank users

May I know which card is giving 0.7% rebate?

QUOTE(zerorulez @ May 25 2009, 03:31 AM)
yeah... i also want to know.. tongue.gif

Citibank Shell Gold is 0.75% on non petrol, but you can only use the rebate to offset against petrol purchase once you reach a certain threshold.

Refer to the 2 posts above me instead tongue.gif

A lil off topic, but in line with petrol rebates and temporary promotions..

Diners club charge card offers 8% rebate on petrol when u charge at least RM500 to the card for other purchases. Only valid for the first 6 months from when you got ur card

Greetings,
Doesn't matter what brand of petrol is it ? smile.gif As long as I charged RM500 to the card ..
Thanks for the info.
*
Yea doesn't matter. But it's only for the first 6 months from the time you get your card. I suppose it's their way of sucking you into using their card, accumulating points with it, then feeling reluctant to change back to other cards =p

yes,i'm a avid movie-goer at GSC, beside it benefit for watching movies i notice also several benefit like ezy-plan, fees waiver but no cash-back. I'm planning to get this CC as my 1st CC, so need the opinion from you guys.
*
For the other benefits, you'll find other cards with them as well.

As someone has mentioned, the only thing different bout this card is the movie benefit

EON Bank Credit Card Free GSC Movie Ticket?, up to 50% discount?

i have googled out and found this link http://imdavidlee.com/free-gsc-movie-ticke...nk-credit-card/
but i still do not understand about the 50% discount...

platinum cardholder can get rm100 free? dog card holder rm60? may i know how to calculate?
*
Based on this table.

Think of it as a prepaid value inside your card, and each time you can only use amounts to pay for 50% of the ticket price.

Hi all, should be going overseas soon (just nearby, probably Sg and Thailand). Was wondering, should I call up the customer service and notify them that I'm going overseas? Namely for the following cards:-

- Amex green charge card
- Citibank clear
- Direct Access
- HSBC

Was wondering if any of you know if any of the above cards would still allow me to swipe even if I don't call up the CS. Also, if any that you guys know for a fact that would block my transactions if I don't call them up.

Thanks!

Direct access need to call overseas

Ah ok, will remember to do this, thx for the info

QUOTE(David83 @ Jun 8 2009, 07:42 PM)
It's better to give them a call. You don't want to a rejected transaction.
*
Hmm yea, just a lil lazy to call them =p I need to call even for the amex?

QUOTE(winner @ Jun 8 2009, 07:43 PM)
Based on my experience, I encountered no problems using my cc if I didn't inform the banks while travelling abroad. Sometimes the banks did call me immediately to clarify soon after the transactions were done. However, for security purpose, it would be better to inform the respective banks first before you travel. By the way, you only need to bring along 1 master + 1 visa.
*
Yea, just thought I'd ask for the various card. But would only be using amex where accepted, and 1 master/visa at places where they don't take amex

I would advise not to use Amex in overseas, as the service charge/commission is much higer than others. You may earn lots of points from Amex while spending in overseas, but you would end up paying much more fee for that. Think twice!
*
Oh yea, some of you actually mentioned it before right. Deng I forget, thanks for the reminder smile.gif

Hmm guess I'll just call up DA and Citibank so I'll have one master and visa each.

u will regret if u get DA..any bank also is more recognised compare to DA...u dont wanna cashier ask u"this card can be used ah?" lol

oh it seems that justone is overrated?
*
Personally I don't really think cashiers would bother with the bank/issuer. As long there's a MasterCard/Visa logo there, they'll accept it anyways

Only thing is when there's CIMB promotions, you might encounter certain cashiers who don't know DA is issued by CIMB and thus enjoys the same privileges
