Oh feel free to post it here. I'm eager to know what is the minimum CL to apply for VISA Infinite. Was just teasing you about the HSBC Premier Mastercard the other day  laugh.gif
*
You may attempt to apply for the Infinite if your current cc is more than 1 year and RM60K and above. (The more the better) This was told to me about 1 year ago by their cc agents, they may have changed this rule already.

For CIMB worldcard, you need at least RM80 CL to qualify.

hsbc just offered me a hsbc card with their excuse being my hsbc amanah card have some limitations (like cant use in non-halal place, etc). but so far never encountered any prob with using hsbc amanah. :hmmm:
*
It a trick to get you to sign up. You see these guys have a quota to fulfill, sometimes the creative ones will scan through the HSBC's customers database.

As for the EON latest card ... I'll skip it coz I'm not impressed with the bank in the first place.

Don't think alot of us here are impressed with our local banks, especially when it comes to CCs, but for frequent movie goers, it would save them a decent amount,no?

Was looking at the webbie briefly, it seems like with Bonus Value, plat and gold members get rm100 and rm60 each to use on tickets (50% of tic price max per transaction). For plat members on average of rm10/movie, that's go for 10 movies, free 10 movies =p
*
On one hand you may be right about the movie. I'm a movie fan too but these days too busy with work and now downgrade to just watching it @ home only.

Maybank - actually i want this cc only but the requirement disallow me to apply.

I have this tought for me that i take 1 international and 1 local big 3. Maybank is out of my list. Public got problem for online payment . CIMB DA no idea.
My lifestyle : I work at midvalley, active Shopping, prefer carrefour, tesco, jusco, cold storage and isetan. Every year i will take either air asia or mas fly back to my hometown. Currently have no car. Seldom travel overseas. Dining, erm...1 month 2-3 times lo.

Can enlighten me more cc benefit? o ya, most important is free for life with no condition.
*
CIMB DA sounds good for starters. You do quite a fair bit of groceries shopping I assume, what you should be targeting next is SCB JustOne* which provides direct cash rebates to all your purchases. Alternatively AllianceBank cash rebate card. (Or any other cash rebates cash card in the market which is not many so should be an easy decision)
* Check out the income requirement 1st.

Probably you need to have your own opinion about what you want but remember there is no card in the market which is best for everything. You need to sacrifice one for the other. Example ... a cash rebate card is probably not free for life or give you 5x points. Card payment is easy coz you can use IBG interbank transfer to pay. I know some people are complaining about the RM2 fee but you probably incur more money for petrol, parking and time to go to the bank. Best if not to incur at all but do balance out between convenience, what you want in your card and what you get at the end of the day.
Eg. SCB cost me RM2 to pay every month / fund trans but they gave me back at least RM30 in rebates every month. That's a net RM28 gain vs a RM2 investment.

Personally I like your question better than your regular "Recommend me best card!" coz you have narrowed down your needs.

Good luck on your choices!

You don't have a Standard Chartered Bank savings/checking account ? Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank only charge RM0.50 for each IBG.

Got ... but I still need to move my cash (on a monthly basis) to my SCB 1st.

cant we consumer have any say before they change the rule that definitely not to our advantage; did they announce it before hand and invite comment from the public or consumer groups.. i suppose no, right?
*
I dunno about you guys but I never had a problem with late payments for a long time. I always pay the bill a few days before they are due, I used IBG transfer and move funds before 11.50am so that it will be accepted on the same day itself and etc. Most complaints I believe are due to the removal of the 20 days interest free period but if you don't have any rollover (or just pay minimum) then you wouldn't have this problem to begin with. For a very long time, the market charges 18% interest and now replaced with a tiered system.

They are a lot of ways that consumers can do to avoid paying the penalties. Plus I believe the move is to discourage consumers from accumulating cc debts and encourage prompt payment which is good. we don't want someday the credit crunch will happen to Malaysia don't we?

No credit card in Malaysia is giving 1% cash rebate. The rebate for credit card in Malaysia is between 0.3% - 0.7% only.
*
Bro ... got coz I'm using one. The AllianceBank credit card cash back give you up to 1.38% rebate and SCB JustOne is 2%-5%.

I'm not sure whether this has been posted here.. But i think i've read or heard about it somwhere else that min age requirement to apply cc is like 21 and above..

So, would it be possible for someone below the stipulated age, place a fixed deposit on certain bank, let say RM10k.. and try to apply credit card based on his fixed deposit for himself??
*
Err ... likely to be a No coz the minimum age rule is set by BNM and not the banks itself.

Oh.. rolleyes.gif non-requirement for a min balance sounds great. Btw, I didn't see any notice about monthly/yearly service/admin fee for the maintenance of current acc in the link.

Has anybody here already obtained SCB Titanium cc? Please advise on how a retail transaction works (credit/debit), based on your PERSONAL experience.

Another inquiry. Can the cardholders just hold the current acc without issuance of cheque books (not paying stamp duty/fee for cheque book)?

From the info provided, the current acc will become dormant if there is no transaction in 1 year. Can the Titanium cc still be used if the cardholders only use the cc but have no transaction in the current acc for 1 year?  rclxub.gif
*
Well ... finally the official T&C is out from the bank. Probably they received a lot of feedback concerning the lack of information concerning this product. OK ... let me try to add on based on what I know as well.

- Fee for current acct maintenance is not there but you definately need to keep some inflows and outflows in your account within a 12 month span. Otherwise they will deemed as dormant ... whether this will affect the status of the JustOne is still unclear.
- Cheque book are mandatory items although you don't put in any money. The RM2.75 will be charged to your cc account instead.
- If you have money in your account, spendings will be deducted from here and then the card will function as a credit card.

If you ask me, just put in some money before the 12 months is up. At least you will avoid your account to be dormant. I suspect the card is actually a credit card with debit card like facilities.

I'll be signing up soon for this card and let you guys know of the feedback later. Unless someone beat me to it.

Do you mean that dc will take effect 1st if there is a balance in the current acc? If this is the case, why should we deposit money into the current acc as most of us prefer cc function for retail purchase?
*
Well ... from my conversation with the folk's in SCB, that is what will happen when you have cash in your account. Let's suspend judgement for the moment time being and I'll let the folks here know my experience with the card.
If everything works out then I'll pair this card with AllianceBank cc ... should have the best combo for maximum rebate effect.

Oh yes ... for overseas purchases seems Alliance have yet to charge extra on top of your transaction. I'm looking forward to the card issuers to move and introduce more cash rebate cc products space soon.

Call the card center. Pretend to be angry and tell the CS in an angry tone. "I want to cancel your card!". CS asks you why, you say cos you don't want to be charged an annual fee. You don't want to pay for something that other banks are giving for free. Other banks giving free annual fee. So you will bring your business to other banks. Usually, the CS will tell you they will waive or cancel the annual fee.
*
Bro ... the folks in this forum do not encourage such tactics coz we got more class than that. More often than not we got our AF waived without resorting to pretending to be "angry" or stooping to such low tactics.

In terms of cash rebate for all purchases + reward points + unlimited promotion period, Alliance and SCB Titanium, in my opinion, could be a better choice at this point in time.
*
I couldn't have agreed more. Other promotions may offer higher rebate but they are likely to be temporary of nature, supports limited merchants and in some cases quite complex for the end consumer to fully benefit from the rebates.

You don't want to be hopping from one card to another just to enjoy the short term rebates.

SCB 40k annual income? not 30/36k?

Not a mistake there. You can check out their website for eligibility requirements.
Different banks have different eligibility requirements.

Which more prestigious : DA Platinum Mastercard or DA World Mastercard ?

In terms of card level - DA World Mastercard.
In term of "actual" service level - should be the same as per Platinum card. Some forummer here are cancelling their World Mastercard as they are unhappy due to mismatched expectations.

I'm thinking of applying for my first credit card soon. Any bank that you guys can suggest that are easy to get the CC's application approved?
*
If your income documents meet the cc requirements, I don't see the application being rejected. Local banks are slightly easier than foreign banks for first time application.

Which local bank ? Choose the cc product that meets yr requirements and apply.
