I do think that Pro Complex
might actually be a hyped up product.
It requires slightly more than twice the serving of a common whey protein. It has 4x the amount of sodium. It has a whole load of vitamins, BUT I can fix that up with a serving of multivitamins. (which would cost me about SGD25 [RM55] for 180 caps or 1 month supply. And at a much higher concentration too) Also, I'm not sure how your body will absorb all 60GMS of protein, especially since it's fast digesting protein (Unless you have HCL to go with it)
Taking GNC's price of about RM200+RM55 for multivitamins.....it'll be around RM255. That's still cheaper than the price at Ego nutritions for RM350. So personally, apart from taste, I'm not too sure if I'll want to join the Pro Complex bandwagon. Buy OEM protein. Tasteless and cheap.
Still, I'm a believer of food and less of supplements. My supps are only limited to HCL, creatine, whey protein, multivitamins and fish oil. HCL to ensure I get 95-100% digestion of my food. Creatine because my workouts are intense and I train twice a day. Whey, multivitamins to recover in time. Fish oil, to increase insulin sensitivity to fat and ensure that my body doesn't use muscles for energy.
As for your increase of 2KG, it could be your body finally getting a break, and having all the essential nutrients that it requires (I suggest you jot what you eat in the last 2 weeks) and thus gaining some muscle. I'm at 82KG now, while on the 5th day of my break. I start training, I'll drop back to 80 again.
