new MX518 = 1800 dpi
old MX518 = 1600 dpi dont worry...old or new the MX518 is still a damn good mouse. n i dont think u can find the old version anymore unless its old stock |

IMO, u should still continue using it because it is a good mouse. Why change if it is still in its prime? Logitech mouse are known for durability as well =) I used the first logi for 6 yrs before changing to G5 two yrs ago
