Are you sure customers won't react negatively to "promotions, news, targeted ads and more" being sent to their phones while they wait?

You have a good point there. To prevent abuse or massive bulk SMS spamming, the consumer is allowed to opt out at anytime he/she wants to. Excatly like in the Forum, if you RSS to the thread via e-mail, you can cancel it anytime later on.

Free2roam allows the users to opt out at any time they like, and also to opt back in when they feel like it. They also can choose how many times they want to be prompt in a month. For example, 4 times a month MAX, 1 time MAX, ETC. They can also choose if they wanna receive Discounts ONLY / freebies ONLY / food vouchers ONLY etc.

Content is king. If we deliver an SMS which contains something relavant to the end user, they will feel the content is useful. Relavance is the key here. Getting the RIGHT ad to the RIGHT user will only enhance user expereince.

Now the question is, why did you need me to tell you? why didn't you know immediately when it dropped? how many customers did you just lose, and most importantly, your reputation, how much has it suffered from the site not being up? if I was your competitor, I'd just say "don't buy from her, she doesn't even know when her website drops".. then what?

You're the business owner, your job is to know. I bet am_eniey would know immediately if one of his machines break down, or if his employees are not working, or whatever. These things you have to know, because you are losing money every time it drops.

anyway, i read through this few pages. Good idea on the surface, but still have few glaring flaws. It really need honesty and willingness of user in order for the system to work.

I'm sure there is technical error. Well its a normal incident happen to some website.

A forum wangcyber.com is down now.A bit frustating for me, when its fun to read the forum suddenly its down n gonna up back at 8am nex morning. I juz like...wtf? but juz go with the flow. so just wait =)

Even a game can have error or shut down for a 2days, pple will keep complaining, they (admin) cant stop that. But when the server is up, they continue to play ;P

There are so many things to do besides monitoring my webpage 24hours. Most companies these days outsource their web pages to web hosting companies .
Well, thank you for telling me, you are the first one. My customers dont check out my page 24 hours a day as they are already very confident with the service i provide. I'll need to call my web hosting company tomorrow as its already off working hours.

So, what do you do for a living? You sound so brilliant, you must be some big time CEO or something.
Enlighten me.

For some technical reason it will be off few more mins and whole day tomorrow ( Wednesday) as upgrading is being done and it will be up without problems on Friday.

Sad isn't it, it's been down how long? and no one thought to tell you. So many people must have tried the website after the post was put up, and no one cared enough to tell you that it was down. Why is that?



Sure but what about your potential customers? and they don't need to check out the website 24 hours a day, they just need to check it at the wrong time.



Don't web hosts have 24x7 support ?

Christy, i am sorry to sound to blunt, but you created a thread in Finance&Investmentand i was one of the people to give you constructive criticism. I really hope that you'll manage the barrage of professional criticism from the Kickstart panel judges.

I am more worry about the judges finding more flaws in your plan, which we have constantly pointed out. If one of the judges doesn't take a liking to your positive and Utopian plans, you will simply be outdone and out voted by other contestants.

Anyway, i wish you best of luck. Perhaps you can have a look at BBC's Dragon's Den from youtube for some insights. Good luck and good bye


You should read what we said to her in the link posted above. I was hoping she will grasp our concern for the flaws in the plans before facing the judges later.
My words seems harsh, but i believe the judges that will give her more capital will be meaner that the words i've used.

wodenus : beep2u.com team already working to fix the web since last nite.The website that been provide now (link as been given by christy) is a temporary given by the team. The beep2u.com crash yesterday, not having error since a week, or what
