that means gtx260 is more valuable in term of money we spend???
can i play recent games at 23" inch lcd with high settings with gtx260??
is it good enough without upgrade since i will not upgrade in 2-3 years..
sorry for asking too much...
thanx..

definitely u are able to play almost every game at high settings without lag except for crysis laugh.gif ...if u are not in a hurry u could wait until end of this year when nvidia announce their new GT300 series

it is better to aim for at least a 9600gt then u can play at high settings for almost every game but of course it will depend on what resolution u are running on...how big is your screen spoon?

yeah...forgot to mention the resolution also..if you just play on normal 17 -19" square screen 9500gt will serve you well. but for higher reso need to play with the settings as i mentioned previously.

@pro-mx..spoon already bought the 9500gt.
cant ask him to straight away change to 9600gt pulak laugh.gif

lol omg sorry never read properly...anyway hope spoon is happy with his 9500gt then laugh.gif

how about u??
i think ur dell xps 420 should run crysis warhead better than mine
coz ur cpu is quad core (correct me if im wrong)
*
i am using everything at maxed settings on crysis and crysis warhead at 1680x1050 resolution without AA and i am getting around 25-35 fps for both games...dont really see the "optimization" at all and can get very choppy at some level....i hope they will improve performance in crysis 2 though unsure.gif

@Fyrekat
are u using vista? i think the problem is you have insufficient ram but i might be wrong though but most of the time stutters got something to do with memory or worst case would be your PSU

its more GPU dependent than CPU dependent and i think it does not take advantage of quad core at all...i bet using a dual core the fps wont be much different compared to mine....currently there is not 1 game that even fully utilize quad core and dont even talk about gta4 cause that game is totally unoptimized but an upcoming game called Alan Wake is said to fully utilize multicore(dual core and quad core)...will see when it comes out next year

well even an overclocked q6600 will pump out more FPS but crysis will still be choppy at certain levels

I'm using Windows XP. I've always been under the impression that in-game gameplay is more resource intensive than the intro scenes or cut scenes, which is why I've not been bothered too much since gameplay is fine. It's just annoying that intros or cut scenes don't play smoothly and I don't know why that happens.
*
maybe changing your OS to vista will solve the problem but i am just guessing laugh.gif ..does your HDD light blinks a lot during cut scenes? it can even be as simple as defragging your hard drive to solve the problem

if more games start moving to dx10 and 11...those guys are bound to change to vista...whats the point of having a dx10 card when your OS doesnt even support it? stupid isnt it? dx11 games wont come out yet even if ATI and Nvidia release the card....it will take sometime before dx11 will be implemented on games so i dont think we should worry about it yet

crysis is different story...the game runs like shit even if u have the fastest single card...there is at least 15% increase or even more over the GT250 aka 9800gtx or whatever it is(GT250 is not even a GT200 architecture)....my fps boost up about 40-50 fps in Call Of Duty 4 Multiplayer from upgrading 8800gt to gtx 260 so 5%?...what a joke...i would believe if u said gtx 260 to gtx 275 is 5%
