any one can suggest what is the best hdmi cable for 2409W...recently i bought chap ayam hdmi at RM40.00 screen appear at green and red...but after change to dvi cable all back to normal...not asking for RM300 hdmi cable price...but at least can use on my current lcd...

Bro, expensive or cheap HDMI cable makes no difference. I use cap ayam RM20 HDMI cable for all my setups and no problem. Get them from www.play-asia.com Free shipping to Malaysia. Your case might be faulty HDMI cable or faulty HDMI slot.

Wow, many compliments of Dell Service. So good.

What happen to your 1st RMA ? Can share ?

This HP IPS Model is very expensive for me, around RM2,000++
Got sell in Low Yat ?

What's main difference with these S-IPS & H-IPS ?
*
Visually, nothing much. The only difference is the pixel structure and slightly higher contrast ratio. If you're really into IPS panel, get the one with Advanced True Wide Polarizer. It will gives you a better black level and non of the purplish hue when viewing at certain angle. NEC LCD2690WUXi for example. One of the best you can buy. Around 1.1k USD, 25.5 incher.

I had view the HP DreamColor LP2480zx Professional Display few times already... the specification offered really interesting and it's LED backlite as well smile.gif

But I wonder why you said the graphic card must equipped with DisplayPort? What features that you mentioned only supported by those designer graphic card? Care to elaborate more? unsure.gif

I'm using an 8ms panel and not experiencing any ghosting at the moment, I don't think 12ms will be affected by ghosting problem? huh.gif
*
Forget about LP2480zx as it is not relevant for normal home users, unless color accuracy is so important to you or your job that you need to fork out nearly RM7k for that LCD. NEC LCD2490WUXi/LCD2690WUXi or Hazro HZ26W/HZ26Wi offers the same quality out of the box and you save yourself a few Ks. Good luck hunting biggrin.gif

is it possible to download or buy any 1920x1080 movies? i download a few full HD movie which claims to be 1080p but after finish downloaded i still see the bloody 2 black bar doh.gif
*
QUOTE(xcen @ Mar 8 2009, 04:33 PM)
Because usually the resolution of the illegal movies are not FULL HD, their aspect ratio is a little screwed.

I don't know about legal BluRay discs though, but those shops that display them shows no black bars at all.
*
Black bars or no black bars depends on your movie ratio. If you movie's aspect ratio is anything above 1.78:1, both 16:9 and 16:10 will have black bars. Just that with 16:9 the black bars will be thinner. Most movies are in 1.85:1 and 2.39:1 ratio. It is possible to download 1080p movies. Or you can just buy them like I did, get blu-ray disc movies.

I got questions about this Dell UltraSharp 2007FP

Specifications say it's Panel Type is
VA - Vertical Alignment & IPS - In Panel Switching

I thought a monitor should be using either one of it. Can a Monitor is using 2 panel type together ?

Can anyone care to guide me on this ?

Thanks.
*
It means it is either VA or IPS. It's a gamble, I think mostly are VAs now. IPS are long gone.

Is it worth to upgrade 22" to 27" or 30"?
I got a lcd tv but i dont think its suitable for pc gaming and work... pls comment~
*
LCD TV is never suitable for PC work, even with FULL HD. If you find 22" is insufficient for you, go ahead and upgrade. I wouldn't go for 30" because it would be uncomfortable sitting at a close range to a 30". 26" is the max for me.

If I'm going to leave the computer on for a very long time without actually being in front of it, is it better to switch off the LCD monitor or let it just automatically go to power saving mode?

Which extends the LCD monitor's life longer?

Switch the monitor off.

HDMI exist on LCD monitor now is mainly for console. Like PS3. HDMI = DVI with sound signal. That's all.

I think you should just STFU if you do not know about monitors. rclxms.gif

VA pwns TN doesn't matter the specs.

2nd:you mention Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP VA panel low contrast and 6ms gtg.  hmm... An extremely bizarre person? hmm.gif
3rd: you deem it you can see the lag in between 6ms.

Are you been coordinate?  coordinator notworthy.gif

i think i remember someone say using a camera (by looking at the camera screen u will c the flip imagine u will c some vertical line (VA panel),something like that)  can know which panel is that?
izzit this is another way to identify panel?
correct me if i wrong.

offtopic.
wow this forum really hot indeed.
long time nv come hardware zone.
guy relax...
not tat all ppl. can sit in front of pc to search for few hour.
and no need to use "dumbasss" good?
sigh
like i say if feel that this post is spoonfeeding just ignore it.

The camera trick is not for checking panel type. Like valho said, viewing angle is the easiest to check the panel type. But those who haven't seen a VA/IPS panel before might have a problem because they have nothing to compare with. 2ndly is the color reproduction. Again, you have to be pretty good with your eyes and have seen a VA/IPS panel before you can spot the difference. 3rdly, if non of those above works for you, worst come to worst come in here, give us a model you want to check the panel type and wait for forumers reply if you do not have the time searching for it.

yeah I did saw some at dell with 160° / 170° viewing angle at Dell site. This makes it harder to see whether the panel is TN or VA/S-IPS since I think most ppl at the shop doesn't know what panel is used on the LCD they are selling and not all manufacturer advertise it
*
Well.... once can assume pretty well based on the price. I can confidently say that most LCDs selling out there are TN panel.

Ya lor, most of Dell LCDs are of TN panel. Luckily I was able to grab my Dell 2007WFP with great deal last time.
One thing I was curios about is how is my 2007WFP (S-IPS panel) compare to Dell 2209WA (E-IPS panel)?
*
2007WFP wins hands down out of the box without tuning. I still remember paying 2.4k for that yrs ago. I'm not that impressed with 2209WA, but at least it is cheap anyway or else I'll be kicking myself after that purchase.

Hey..i'm using a Unibody Macbook..
Planning to get an external display for movies and gaming..
Any recommendations?
I'm trying to find one with S-IPS panel and 1080p support..
The one with the best value for money..  tongue.gif
I looking into the Samsung T220..

Oh yeah..can Macbook support such high end monitor?
*
Good panel doesn't come cheap bro. smile.gif It is either you fork out more for S-IPS panel or get a TN panel for best value for money.

Samsung T220 is a TN panel. If you want S-IPS and your budget is limited look for a 2nd hand Dell 2007WFP.

If you have the moola, get 24" HP LP2475w.
