i will try to find more of the said species considering i'm living in thier back yard.a couple of friends said they spotted scorp in their work place which is a wood shop. will try to poke around to see if any is there.

this is the one that i caught earlier. you can see the sawdust that i'm using. i tend to like this sawdust because it can hold the water beneath and be dry at the top or moist at the top but dry beneath.

i would like to add that i'm not an experience scorpion handler or owner. these are my first scorpions. the reason i have these 2 was because i didn't want them to hurt or get hurt the people around them.

a question if i may, is it normal for scorpion to play with their drinking water? both of my scorpions like to play in their drinking bowl.

So your friends works in a timber factory or sumthing? Those places are ideal to find scorpions as they tend to hide and make their home in between the logs and woods. Thats y you guys can find many of them crawling here and there...i wish i were lucky over here...
What do u you mean by 'play'?

Added on May 18, 2009, 9:32 amand as for the substrate i think as long as the substrate keeps moisture i think it will b fine... Dunno what the others are saying..

As for the substrate, no idea, but careful with fungus/mold growing on them
Bout the water, from wat i know if they tend2 stay near the water dish most of the time, it indicated its not enuff humid
but from wat i see in ur pic, its enuff so yeah... I think it juz play around

sorry for the poor drawing. not an art person. but is this layout good enough. becoz i think that forest scorpion like to sit in burrows until they are ready to hunt. correct me if i'm wrong and plz photochop the pic for any suggestion.

Nice... caring for an AFS is simpler than you think...all you do is place a pot or bark or driftwood on the substrate and leave it. The scorp will burrow is it want. For the water bowl any thing that is shallow can be a drinking bowl for it. Such as bottle cap but i recommend something bigger a shallow bowl perhaps or a water bottle and cut the bottom off for the bowl. it simple....
