Not sure if that will work, because I've already spoke to the RMA officer there and he told me that have to pass the HDDs by hand together with the RMA order form (print from the Seagate warranty website). He will make a copy of the RMA order which is chopped and signed, then passed back. This copy will be proof of receiving the HDDs.

Go to Seagate Warranty Validation, to check your drive warranty status. Then submit the details plus the error code using Seagate's Seatools. Print the warranty request form and send it together with the defective HDD (preferably by hand) to...

If out of warranty then tough luck. Only valid for drives still under warranty...

According to this document: Seagate: Indirect Customer Support – Samsung Hard Disk Integration, that warranty centre is still valid. No need to submit official receipt. Follow the warranty procedures as I've described earlier.
