nothing wrong with your eye. no difference means the tv are properly calibrated for component and hdmi.

component cable are capable to even streams 1080p signal. so to say component will gives inferior PQ are misleading.

Actually component cables even when they can support 1080p are still inferior to HDMI. The difference are still there, just not easily noticeable. It's exactly like comparing VGA cables to DVI on very high resolution such as 1920x1200. Besides, component cables are stuck at 1080p/30Hz while hdmi supports up to 1080p/60Hz.

One other thing, the Sony 32" S-series BE2 actually have a 1366x768 panel, not FullHD. It can accept 1080p signal and downscales to the panel resolution. The only 1080p 32" Sony lcdtv is the W-series, which is way more expensive. Better get the LG 32" (LG53R or LG80R) or Samsung 32" Series-5 or 6, which are all 1080p 32" panels.

dunno.. but carefour sure got. carefour brand..
actually different version of HDMI cable means it increases it bandwith of data transfer.. but version 1.0 is already sufficient to transfer 1080p.

component cables can't be stuck at 1080p/30Hz coz that would means it will only display at 15fps...

No, you'll get 30fps max. This is not 1080i/60hz where you'll get an effective rate of 30fps, 1080p renders full frame, not lines.

is it? i thought progressive also the same. blush.gif

but still, currently there are no support for 1080p60. ATSC and BluRay standards are only at 1080p30 max.
when they do revise the standards, BluRay play might be able to play it via update to the firmware but we'll still need a new tv as current tv also only limited to 1080p30.

LOL, erm current tv does support 1080p60 as long as it had hdmi inputs. Consoles such as Xbox360 and PS3 does support 1080p60 as well, as long as there's games that are rendered at 1080p and runs at 60fps, for example Wipeout HD on the PS3. So while most broadcasting standard or BD movies at 1080p30 max, it's the games that's gonna support 1080p60 mostly. Sure there's so very few games that's gonna support 1080p at 60fps on consoles currently, but the point is the feature is already there. Heck, i could just easily hook up a pc thru hdmi to an 1080p lcdtv and get 60fps playing games. laugh.gif

current gen consoles is not powerful enough to output 1080p60 except for more simplistic games such as Wipeout HD. even in PC, you'll need quite a high end hardware to get 1080p60.
