Yup, it very interesting indeed. I'm pretty sure you'd like it even more if you own a jailbroken unit as you would be able to enjoy 3rd party apps.
By the way, my iPod Touch 2G 16GB cost me Rm1299. A decent price for an awesome iPod like that if you ask me |

You need to jailbreak your iPhone/ iPod Touch first, then you'll have to use either Cydia or Installer.app i believe. I haven't jailbroken my 2nd gen iPod yet, but i sure am gonna
do so once there is an official jailbreaking method. |

QUOTE(kyon22 @ Feb 21 2009, 11:55 PM) I found a 3g iphone 8 gb for RM2400, the shop owner told me its the unlock version. Should I go for it?.. don't trust the local shop in malaysia .... they know nuts about iphone.... only know how to said it's fully unlocked bla bla.. but when i ask further last time.. they didn't even know what country does the iphone came from... stupid phone shop... and my GF's iphone kena conned by lowyat 1 of the phone shop , said it's singapore unlcoked set... after i checked it... it's not singapore as the box behind doesn't even show a single English words! and the charger also 2 pin only... not 3 pin (singapore set 3 pin one) as i own a singapore set i knew it... went home found out the charger not working and the IME from the phone is different from the box... but end up argue with her a bit and then she willing to changed for my Gf with a working charger.. |

Thanks for the information guys. I also am using Dopod 838 Pro as the TS but will be keeping the phone since I just love the keyboard.
Someone will buy me a Iphone or an Ipod Touch next month as a bithday gift, but I opt for an Iphone. I just need to get another line to use with the Iphone. Reason, never use GPS before and would really want to try. I have read most of the thread here concerning Iphone but still quite confuse on this jailbreak thing. If my official unlock Singapore version is used in Malaysia, do I still have to jailbreak? I don't mind paying for stuff at ITunes, my friend who uses an Ipod Touch told me most software and games are cheap but I have read somewhere that the good stuff are located at US iTunes and they do not accept international credit card, hence the jailbreaking. Is this true, please correct me. |

Jailbreak means you 'unlock' your phone to use 3rd party apps from Cydia/Installer. (that's how the term 'jailbreak' comes from, you're releasing iPhone from its virtual 'jail')Someone will buy me a Iphone or an Ipod Touch next month as a bithday gift, but I opt for an Iphone. Is this true, please correct me. Jailbreak is not unlocking to use with any telco. All new iPhones are not jailbroken, regardless of the phone is officially unlocked (eg. Singtel sets) or locked. 2. You can get iTunes gift cards from sellers in Garage Sales to be used in US iTunes Store. |

Just to add on to what teikwing has mentioned, make sure you create an US iTunes account following the guide provided at the thread below and also take sometime to read the rest of the thread.
