QUOTE(kyon22 @ Feb 21 2009, 10:57 PM) after reading thru the forum, somehow all of you guys discussion made me took interest in the iphone and i need a replacement for my first gen ipod nano and my dopod 838 pro.. First I'm thinking of the iphone but since the iphone cant read pdf or office file(correct me if I'm wrong)... I need some advice here, should I just get an itouch to replace my ipod nano or just get an iphone to replace both my phone and ipod?.. iPhone can actually read PDF and Microsoft Office files like Excel and Word with the help of applications. a known one would be MobileFiles Pro. available at $9.99.

QUOTE(kyon22 @ Feb 22 2009, 12:18 AM) I should better ask the shop first, thanks for the tips.. but I remembered he told me that he import it from singapore... To confirm the set is from Singapore: 1. Check the Part No. at the back of the iPhone box. 2. Check the Model No. in iPhone. (Settings->General->About) The Part/Model No. is either MB489ZA/A, MB496ZA/A or MB500ZA/A. More details can get online at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937and usually Singapore sets come with official Singtel receipt for warranty claim purposes. the safest is to get it from our fellow reputable iPhone sellers in Garage Sales. sellers like chinamobile, xfree, twinkles and Jacquei are selling legitimate Singapore sets.

QUOTE(gyver @ Feb 26 2009, 04:10 PM) Thanks for the information guys. I also am using Dopod 838 Pro as the TS but will be keeping the phone since I just love the keyboard. Someone will buy me a Iphone or an Ipod Touch next month as a bithday gift, but I opt for an Iphone. I just need to get another line to use with the Iphone. Reason, never use GPS before and would really want to try. I have read most of the thread here concerning Iphone but still quite confuse on this jailbreak thing. If my official unlock Singapore version is used in Malaysia, do I still have to jailbreak?I don't mind paying for stuff at ITunes, my friend who uses an Ipod Touch told me most software and games are cheap but I have read somewhere that the good stuff are located at US iTunes and they do not accept international credit card, hence the jailbreaking. Is this true, please correct me.1. Jailbreak means you 'unlock' your phone to use 3rd party apps from Cydia/Installer. (that's how the term 'jailbreak' comes from, you're releasing iPhone from its virtual 'jail') Jailbreak is not unlocking to use with any telco. All new iPhones are not jailbroken, regardless of the phone is officially unlocked (eg. Singtel sets) or locked. 2. You can get iTunes gift cards from sellers in Garage Sales to be used in US iTunes Store.
