i thought i am the only one..

nowadays.. always need to reset / restart modem..!

it's like.. every half an hour.. need to restart..

sheeesh.. what's happening..!

are tmnet purposely doing this? auto disconnect after certain pre-timed interval?

to save it's bandwidth?

I've been on 60.48 for two whole days and downloading from rapidshare non stop 24/7 lowest speed at 169KBPs maximum speed at 230KBPs [Slowmyx 1MB].

Maybe you guys should try getting 60.48 too. biggrin.gif

Also, as I've said earlier, please provide an adequate cooling to your modem. Overheating is one of the main cause of broadband disconnection.
If your modem line is connected to a splitter that splits modem line & phone line, try connecting modem directly to the main line.

My phone line in my room is based on prepaid, I rarely use my room phone. Most of the time I connect the modem directly to the main line, I only use the room phone when I want to call someone. But then, I'm using a mobile phone so the probability of me using the room phone is like once in a month. laugh.gif

Modem only use a little wattage la bro. You'll barely see any differences even if you turn off your modem the whole month. tongue.gif

broken wiring outside ur house or at the pole there could really affect your streamyx connection...try check your snr margin...

one more issue could be ur torrent client..nowaday dunno why if i set my tcpip half open too high..then i will get dc sad.gif

my house line (Telekom) already 20+ years ... I was thinking to replace the whole cable (from external pole -> internal phone jack) ...

total length is ~10-15 metres (i think this is the average cable length)?

any ideas how should I proceed; as in...

1) how much is the charge?
2) how long to replace? hours? days?

Reason to change: Cable too old, i'm suspecting my streamyx line affected by it

1Mb account, but max down speed is avg. 100K = 80% bandwidth <-- is this normal/avg or should I get higher?

check you snr margin..if the margin is very low and when u pick up ur phone..u hear noise, then you can launch a call to 100 for phone line faulty and at the same time inform the streamyx as well.

they shd will arrange some1 over to your house to replace the wiring. not sure how much they charge but my new line wiring from pole to house the technician charge me rm30..

I thought the wire from the pole to the house is TM's responsiblity and we are not charged for it. The internal wiring from the junction box outside the house to the junction box inside your house /room is what they charge for.
