Am seriously hoping TSB's selling it by this 26th. Very sad if they aren't. So hyped up!

Sigh... I shouldn't have read those threads. Really lowered my hype level which was about to explode considering I've been waiting for 2 years.

Somehow one negative point makes 10 positive points disappear.

Okay no more posts about pirated copies or justification for piracy. This thread is about Mass Effect 2. If you would like to posts about your stance on piracy, there are other threads for that.

I wont allow this thread to degenerate into a piracy justification/symphatiser thread.

WOW I CANT f***IN BELIEVE THAT A SMALL MERC GROUP IN MASS EFFECT 1 COULD PLAY SUCH A HUGE ROLE IN MASS EFFECT 2 , I'M TALKING ABOUT CEBERUS BTW AND I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY A SIDEQUEST IN MASS EFFECT 1, THEY WAS WEAK IN MASS EFFECT 1 TOO , WTF HOW DID THEY BECOME SUCH A HUGE ORGANIZATION? CAPS LOCK FOR CRUISE CONTROL.

that cerberus is the code that gain u access to the network for day one dlc. i think it is on every copy of me2.

day one dlc free stuff

a. one of the two new companion character.
b. new weapon/armor
c. new world/mission

edit: hammerhead will be probably be free, but not in day one dlc, just check on gamefaqs, seriously all this dlc thing are really getting on my nerve.. www.

correct me if i'm wrong.

Well apparently Bioware stated that if your pc/laptop can run ME1 you can run ME2 jst fine.
Well, thats what I heard from the word of mouth on another message board.
*
ME2 isnt my main concern,as ME1 runs quite well on my ancient laptop.

BFBC2 is my major concern and from what it seems, probably wont run at all.

Whoa, watch the kneejerk.

The greatest strength of ME wasn't its RPG aspects (Which were pitifully shallow), but the whole "space opera" feeling it manages to conjure. If they nail THAT, they could make the combat solely a mako driving simulator and I'd be happy.

Again, I've not read of these "reviews" by pirates, but I'm guessing the inventory system is no more but you still pickup loot nonetheless? No biggie really, since unlike other RPGs, there's no reason to horde various items or weapons/armour combos since you only ever need the best at any given moment and just omnigel the rest. The combat is simplified to the point where you won't have to worry about having the right armour to counter a specific attack or having the best weapon with the right kind of elemental attack. There is also neither a crafting system nor secondary items to use, so it doesn't look like that bad of a change.

Remember ME was supposed to be an action game FIRST, then RPG. But all this played second fiddle to the setting and story which were absolutely fantastic and one that I'm hopeful they'll be able to emulate.
*
The complete removal of the RPG system isnt really accpetable.ME was never just an action game to me,unlike GoW.It's always an action game with a bit of RPG.It's just too simplified now.

ME2 isnt exactly what i wanted now.

Also, please direct your wrath to those who played pirated copies and post spoilers.

I definitely will smile.gif. Mako will be replaced by the Hammerhead, a hover tank I think.

Thanks man.

That hardly constitutes a "complete removal of the RPG system". Its still got character levels, customizable builds, item pickups/drops, and most importantly dialogue options in a non-linear story. Hardly "complete".

My wrath? Are you STILL that paranoid?

Actually, despite the quality of the those sidequests, they were generally perceived to be quite a huge organization.
