Of course la if not you think he's willing to waste his time checking your phone line whether got port availability or not?

For each subscriber, the reseller agent gets like 1 month subscription from Jaring.

You also interested in becoming an agent?

Who wants to work without getting paid anyway?

Look at the other forum members here. They just create new thread and ask people to provide them with their phone numbers so that they can check. If ok, then they help you fill up forms. Easy or not?

One subscriber say he gets RM80, if he can get few a day his job is done.

Don't feel like paying him, you can be a reseller yourself and subscribe your own line. Simple as that.

Everything is about money.

Jaring used to be reliable on dial-up days. Hopefully it's the same still.

Any isp will become unreliable once it gets congested.

true, but now we have quite a few ISP that are catching up with streamyx in popularity.. like Maxis, W1max, and JARING, this should lighten the traffic for each ISP by a bit, no? if all clog up on streamyx of course will be slow

There should be even more competing isps for DSL.

I want to see at least more than 5 providing ADSL on TM copper lines nationwide. Then we talk.

When that day happens, we see real competition. Bandwidth will also be enough to keep people satisfied and quiet.
If you don't like isp A jump to isp B, if both doesn't satisfy you entirely then subscribe to isp A & C, login with different accounts depending on usage all on the same phoneline.

Network neutrality will not happen in Malaysia just like how the BN government works.

The problem with these ISPs is that they are wireless and Streamyx is offered in wired. Latency with wired connection is always better than wireless. Light users may be able to adopt to wireless connectivity, but online gamers or heavy downloaders will always prefer Wired connection smile.gif

Its all about monopoly... and if conquer by TM.. that will only benefit the govt. If got other ppl want to take their share of the pie, they will not allow it. Wonder when will be the day we won't be screaming when the internet sux

You can check for Jaring's availability even if the phone line is attached to Streamyx?

I get different reply here.

I have just recently subscribed and activated my Jaring FLITE Wired yesterday and im having frequent disconnects after 1-2 hours of usage.

The DSL Speed(on the modem page) is also not constant, the speed ranges from 100kbits to 2000kbits (usually being only 800kbits).

Though this is most probably either they gave me a faulty modem (a software reset will temporary fix the DSL disconnects) or either my line is really bad, since my friend (quite near) is enjoying full speed ):
