I think DiGi did some speed capping to compromise the network bandwidth
Didn't wanna let the network congested till even the promised avg speeds can't be achieved

To enjoy the BYO rebate, you need to get your own modem
With the modem package, you are not entitled for the rebate |

Yup, the modem won't be able to handle a lot of connections
Once hit higher than 20 in my E230, hanged/cant even MSN/surf....and needs to reconnect So I limit mine to 20 connections only in BT, everything smooth, can even MSN and surf net |

You won't be able to get the pre-launched package anymore
So basically the prelaunch---->extreme (with higher commitment and lower monthly data quota) |

During the 1U roadshow, there are customer services over there
Ask them is the best There will be some DiGi broadband staffs there as well.....ask them even better Another thing I found out recently, the E230 modem doesn't come with the free 2GB microsd card for latest batches. Gosh..... |

QUOTE(yongkailoon @ Jun 8 2009, 09:00 PM) I was actually interested in the modem only and I was told that only the Extreme plan have it. They told me if I just want the modem, I can register for the Extreme plan first and then the next month either terminate or downgrade and still I just have to pay RM300 for the modem only because promotion is RM15 x 12 instead of RM30 x 12. When I called up DiGi to downgrade my plan, they said I have to first pay RM600 for the modem and this is what I really dislike. The promoters even checked with a few senior staffs over there but not too sure if they are the customer service people and all of them told me I can do this with assurance. Thats pure bollocks, if its the extreme plan its RM50 monthly man....1 yr it will be RM600Best you lodge a complaint in the DiGi centers. there will be a 50-50 chance for you to win, but the RM600 penalty is more likely to happen |

QUOTE(darkskies @ Jun 9 2009, 09:06 AM) For bringing your own modem they have rebates i think. Correction, Extreme rebate will be RM20 monthlyFor discover u get RM5 rebate on every mth's bill Explore RM10 and extreme is RM15. And also BYO is only up to 1 year for the moment, after that don't know whether the rebate will still be continued Anyway, I am currently testing an O2 Ovation MC930D USB modem, its good, speeds can get as fast as the Huawei modems and another good thing is, it supports higher number of connections. Currently utorrenting at 450KB/sec to 500KB/sec+ with 100 connections and yet still be able to surf the net and MSN, unlike Huawei, above 20+ connections, its gone. Heat wise, more or less the same like the Huawei when using 3.5G So far no disconnections at all around 10 minutes of testing |

Pre-launched package you can't get it anymore
The diff compared to Extreme is: 1) Speeds up to 7.2mbps (area dependent), upload avg 1mbps (area dependent) 2) Quota 50GB <---this 1 is the best 3) RM128 for first 6 mths, last 6 mths RM158 1 year contract (FREE modem) - 2nd best Downside is no RM5 rebate for autobilling at that time, thats all. Now I dunno. I never taken the advance payment into account as it doesn't matter anyway. |
